    Land Scenery

When we stopped for lunch we asked the guy if he wanted some food - he asked us for a couple of tacos to go, and it seemed to mean a lot to him. These guys work pretty hard (they don't make the taxi mafia money themselves), and it was really great to get to know the guy a little. The front...

    Land Scenery

We hired a cab driver for the afternoon and he took us all around the island and there were a lot of great views!! The crocodile flats/tower, the lighthouse, about 100 different places on the east coast and even at San Geraviso, there were some great photo ops!

    Boat sinking from Blue Angel

From the BA Facebook page.....so glad everyone is ok, and it is nice to hear that even with the fierce competition that must exist in Coz, it's still a brother/sisterhood after all. The Gire family is thinking of you BA family...

Food walking distance from park royal

Oh man- that takes me back! We used to go there after diving before heading back on board the ship we worked on and they had the little coronitas in the metal bucket. Nothing like salty diving mouth, an ice cold beer and sizzling chicken and onions!!! Nom Nom Nom. I still like them and we...

any of y'all been to Jamaica?

I worked for Princess Cruises for a while back in the late 80's. We would port at Montego Bay, and my buddies and I would grab a cab and head out to this hotel. It was maybe 20 minutes and I remember lots of cane fields. The first time we went, the cab driver on the way back to the ship...

    Another Bonaire question

Actually, some of that footage WAS using a red filter. I didn't dig it as much as I like adjusting white balance in iMovie. It's not perfect by any means, but I was hating the red tinge that it gave the shallows, and then not nearly as impressed with the 'improved' colors at depth. I like the...

    Another Bonaire question

I second the motion! ---------- Post added January 6th, 2015 at 10:48 PM ---------- If interested, here's a rough 720p go pro montage of last year's trip. Totally amateur footage, but an idea of what we saw! There were a couple boats involved, but most of the dives were from shore...

    Another Bonaire question

Yeah, I guess I should anticipate being taken literally :) I was attempting to post an amusing overview of a typical noob Bonaire dive. To clarify, the buoys were hit and miss on some sites, and a yellow rock didn't always have a corresponding buoy as far as I could tell. There were many...

    Another Bonaire question

I'm a certified Cozoholic, but I really enjoyed my trip to Bonaire! If you are truly happy blowing bubbles in a quarry, then you will most certainly enjoy the freedom, and seemingly endless reefs of Bonaire. I did miss the size and variety of the structure in Coz and after a week, some of...

You can also use a $2.00 snorkel keeper that you loop around the same D ring as the clip.

Best Cozumel activity if it is raining?

Go diving. You're gonna be wet anyhow. For me, nothing beats a fresh water face rinse at the surface after a lovely long dive!

    Cozumel in March

We've been several times in March and will be there again in 2015. We have experienced nortes two times, but went to dive cenotes or went to the west side and stayed dry. We have seen eagle rays every time, one or two at the southern sites, and then 8 up north of town. We have not experienced...

    Airfare - Looking Ahead

I just booked March 2015 from LAX round trip for $360 - which is an unheard of price! I paid 2X that for a flight a week later last year. It's a crap shoot.

November Trip to Maui: Help needed in planning trip to another island?

We have been diving with several of the Maui ops. I agree that Lahaina divers caters to a wide range of divers, but we usually are left to do our own thing once they have seen us dive, and it's kind of 'be back on the boat in an hour'. The other experience we have had with Lahaina was 'stay...

Place to stay: long sandy beach + diving

Maybe a compromise would be to stay in Playa for a few days (nice sand over there), and you and the boy can do a cenote or two or the bull shark dive, then move the party over to the BA for a bit!

    Pro Diver sinks

My heart goes out to Paul and Matt who have taken us on great trips for many years and were part of a VERY nice operation. It's sad to hear, but really glad everyone is OK. Both those guys have families to take care of, and I will be hoping to hear some news of the recovery of the boat, but...
