You can do a lot - you can stay in Orlando and drive to Jupiter or Boynton - fantastic diving; or you can do the Springs (I don't like them, but many others do) I agree; the thought of diving in Disney's fish tank holds no attraction for me, but many have posted that it was great - YMMV With...

Love the visual! The best time is when the water is clear - regardless of season. Another is when there is something worthwhile to photograph - a slightly out of focus pix of a whaleshark off S. FL in so so viz is worth 1000 pix' of grunts or snappers in cristal clear water -

You rec'd some great info fron Bil and Eric - The reality is, regardless of the position sought, employers can be very choosy today - and if they get an application w/out the baggage yours contains, that person is going to get choosen over you - fair,likely not - but goes to judgement and...

Forget it - not worth it - average depth +/- 12' Nothing to see If you want to try shore diving, you have to go to Broward - lots of info; search if you want more. Another really good option is Blue Heron Bridge in Riveria Beach, in PB countsy - you can enter the water an hour or so...

Very true - I use the one for Fowey Rocks (off Miami) all the time for local info - NDBC - Station FWYF1

Much better written; may be some hope for you yet :D While any of the shore dives in Broward or PB will be cheaper (and you have been given dive clubs to contact and other info for more specific's), a local operation (out of Miami Beach Marina) is RJ - will cost you +/- $55 for the charter -...

Hey Debby, based on the previous thread, we can sure tell the OP where the shore diving is bad!!

We would not kid you - only thing you will see shore diving off Miami is sand - nothing to see; no motivation to mislead you - you need a boat to get to the wrecks and reefs here. The diving is really good, just not from shore :( Wish it were different, but for any meaningful shore diving...

Me too; for over 30 years - and the good news is you have a ton of great options - all the BS you were told about needing a boat, and spending a ton of money to dive are incorrect - at least in S FL However...... You need to go north - forget the Keys unless you are up to swiming 6 miles...

All good points - I no longer recommend Jupiter to real new divers; however if you have 25+ dives, and as you point out, are comfortable in current and maybe a little deeper diving, the OP should be OK. Also Boynton/Delray worth consideration; better diving that West Palm.

Closest salt water diving is Jupiter - superb diving - recommend JDC

You did a great job w/ this video - really excellent! You had fantastic conditions on the wreck, too (not my favorite dive; however if we had had conditions like you experienced, maybe a different story) Thanks for posting your video

45 min's to an hour - but aside from the statue and a small surounding reef, there is not all that much to see - aside from the arms and legs of snorkelers :rofl3: But much better than Dec - April :depressed:
