Our UK agent also deals with Daphne and the other day they posted a copy of their dive permit, but there was no suggestion they had gone out of business, just in the same "boat" as most of the others. To be honest no one seems to be getting any information, we have no idea if our October trip...

Because of the time difference I am getting information more quickly from here and will continue to monitor for updates, our fingers and toes are still crossed :)

I am guessing as the note is signed Ken, that is Ken Weenhoff of Galapagos Adventures who is the agent for Deep Blue, but I could be wrong. Probably as they didn't seem to be effected.

Mossman, what does "grandfathered in" mean. Looking at the itineraries listing both Sky Dancer and Deep Blue have the same category of Operation - Navigable cruise A EDIT. Reading the PNG site I think the Navigable cruise A just means the type of boat not the itineraries

No I went through the translation and I didn't either, although I can't imagine they would have posted it if it wasn't the correct one. It did list Wolf and Darwin though and I don't suppose you go there for anything else.

Blimey TB, we booked our flights from the UK in February - non transferable :( Fingers crossed for a happy outcome.

We have been told there is a meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) who knows :(

Hi sorry I don't seem to be able to reply to the other Galapagos thread which is currently running, SB keeps kicking me out. I would apreciate any upto date information on the currenty situation as our group has a booking and we have just paid the balance on the trip. Does anyone know why...

Brrr will it really be that cold :( I am going in June, only ever done September or earlier in the year, I only have a 3mm and a 7mm so I was going to take the 3mm full suit. I might invest in some Thermocline stuff from fourth element to go under it now.

Don't think about the cost, if you do you won't do it. I did mine last weekend and frankly in the end it will cost twice the course cost when you add in transport, accommodation, dive site entry and food. Like some have said do the course when you are "happy" with the basics and bad habits...

I would also recommend Tony Backhurst Scuba Travel HERE In the south I have been on Hurricane, Grand Sea Serpent and Royal Emporer (now on the Sudan route) I have been on 6 trips with TB and had a good time on each occasion.
