    Galapagos Gloves and Luggage?

Apologies I didn't know. Perhaps if he had bothered to communicate with us I might have been aware of that.

    Galapagos Gloves and Luggage?

Jofre wasn't the guide on our trip, we had Jeff and Luis - neither of them had reef hooks. As someone said you will be finding a big rock and crouching down behind it otherwise the sharks just won't pass over the top. It's all about playing peek a boo with the sharks :D

    Deep Blue October 1 - 11

Hi Tiggerbella We booked the trip 2 years before we departed, we had 4 vegetarians on board, two of those were on the original list and yes our agent was informed of their dietary requirements, none of the group were overly strict diet wise - just no meat which for those that don't know does...

    Galapagos Gloves and Luggage?

Our group had the same experience with the luggage, despite being informed it was best to check in as individuals, all our bags were whisked away by the local agent and checked in as a group. We didn't pay excess either way. I had 46kg in 2 bags so about 100lb in old money :) As for gloves, I...

    Deep Blue October 1 - 11

Yes some excellent photos and it will run for months yet :) Maybe if there had been a few Yanks ;) on board the service might have been better. Take it easy and safe diving Jeff. Thanks again for the communications.

    Deep Blue October 1 - 11

Hi Jeff I kind of gave up on my camera in the currents, it was far less hassle just to watch the sharks and of course keep dashing out from the balcony to see the whalesharks, so I really don't have many underwater shots but there is a whole thread on YD HERE if you want to see what the others...

    Deep Blue October 1 - 11

I have been considering posting this for a few weeks and I have finally decided to post. Let me first say that the dive deck guys on Deep Blue must be some of the best around and couldn't fault them. Now some background. I have been a long time member of another dive forum - Yorkshire...

Galapagos Trip Report Deep Blue Yacht 17-24 Sep 07

Well I still in Peru but so wont post a report until I get back. A couple of comments though, first the good one this is the first dive boat I have been on which had a saftey drill. Now a couple of bad ones, this is the only boat where I have not had to show a cert card or asked if I even...

Hi Guy Thanks for the report, I hope you don't mind it has been cross posted over on our side of the pond on YD, there are 16 of us heading off this afternoon for our trip on DB and I can't tell you what an excited bunch we are. We booked 2 years ago and it never seemed to come round but...

    Galapagos 2008

Thanks for the update Jeff, we can only hope the whalesharks are still around for us next week. There are 16 very excited brits leaving the UK on Friday afternoon. Glad you mentioned the issues around Wolf and Darwin, I think we would have been upset as well if we only found out about the...

    Galapagos - Ecuadorean Presidential Decree

Could someone who has been on Deep Blue please confirm which type of cylinders they use - will we need International A clamp adapters ? Or do they have DIN on board. Cheers

    Galapagos - Ecuadorean Presidential Decree

Same as John and Lou, maybe if we are in the same dive spot together we should ask our Captains if we can all get together for a beer and have a big group hug and congratulate each other for suviving all the stress over the last 6 weeks :) I also have a friend who is on the PH boat at the same...

    Galapagos - Ecuadorean Presidential Decree

I can assure you Drew that Lou and I have been following this situation from the start. We have been promised updates we didn't receive based on meetings which were supposed to happen which probably didn't. But you are right we have no idea if Deep Blue had permission to go and then GNP...

    DIR single tank regulator setup

Sincere apologies, that's the problem with hitting "new posts". I hadn't flicked my GUE switch to on :)

    DIR single tank regulator setup

I would suggest you look at adding a redundant air source (pony cylinder) if you are doing dives below 30m a single cylinder isn't enough if something happens.

    First Time Diving Doubles

Frankly I would get another instructor, I am surprised your instructor took you to 89' / 30m for your first venture in doubles. I agree with Randy a pool or shallow area would have been a better place.
