How many times during the dive do you actually check your guage ? would unclipping 2 or 3 times during your dive be that much of a PITA :) during my dive last weekend I checked mine no more than twice.

We had the same experience, although I wouldn't say we pestered them. Just sneaked past they didn't seem to mind too much as they stayed on the rocks.
