    2 valves per tank, why?!

There is nothing wrong with a Y or H valve setup and everything to recommend it. You can take Intro to Cave in an H valve configuration. To my knowledge there has never been a cave fatality due to that configuration. If you want double dip tubes you can find that in an old Beauchat Y valve.

    Diving with a Spouse

It's incredibly dangerous. The last time a Moray popped out of the coral next to my wife she teleported right through me to the other side. Any slip up and she would have materialized in my space resulting in a nuclear explosion.

Removed Hose Protector from First Stage. Very worried please help

The question- are my hoses possibly damaged by pulling on them. The answer- possibly. If you are uncomfortable with your assessment...replace them for peace if mind. All the rest of this thread is crap.

    Question about switching hoses

I keep it clipped to my chest and use it for inflating my smb. Much more convenient than pulling off my wing inflator hose.

West Hill Pond not a good place to dive right now...

Or maybe you could go there more often and you might just locate the body and help out the family.

Why the dislike of air integrated computers?

I have never had to "unclip" my SPG to look at it. I just glance down at my chest where the SPG pokes out from under my arm.

Changed depth limit for PADI Open Water

Nothing to do with narcosis, just a USN guideline because working time beyond that depth is very limited on Scuba so it makes more sense to go to surface supplied gas.

Who has been in a reall OOA situation, whether you or your dive buddy?

Three times. Regulator of a design which could freeze to closed...and did. 70' CESA. Freeflow at depth due to freeze. Finally emptied the tank at the surface. Oral inflation practice is good. Buddy on HP80 and unfamiliar with teenie tank factor. Ran out at safety stop.o Oral inflation...

Depending upon how long you plan to stay at intro level... several agencies will expire your doubles cert after one year. TDI does not.

    Spots on tank

It is called white rust if it is soft and somewhat waxy. It is a failure of the zinc surface to passivate properly. It should be removed with a relatively soft brush and then the surface allowed to passivate again. It is helpful if the water has a pH between 7 and 8.2. When chromate washes...

    Going from a 80cu to 100cu tank

Oriskany? Most local shops will likely give you a generous fill on any steel tank. Find out the brand of tank so you can get the weighting right. You don't want to punch a hole through the urchins and the flight deck like Wiley Coyote.

    Solo Dive Planning Slates

Watched an instructor do a pre-dive buddy check with a student and then jump off the boat without her fins. Nothing wrong with a careful check. And it should include "remove sunglasses".
