    Why aren't BC bladders elastic?

Cave divers don't let the water in because they normally also finish the dive with a lot of gas still in their tanks. Have a crisis, finish with little gas and a cave diver will have to empty the bladder to hold the last stop.... and some water may sneak in.

    Doc Deep dies during dive.

Interesting. That was the solution proposed for the (Norwegian?) cave divers who had the deep fatalities a few months ago. CCR to the restriction, then open circuit through the high work load area, then back to CCR.

Was wondering what thickness of wet-suit would be ideal for these 3 dive locations?

Cert good for rental. Not worth much if you own one and are a self-learner. Just finished a 1 hour dive in a farmer john 7 mil at 47F. Hands lose some coordination in the cold so OK for a rec dive. Not so good for a deco dive requiring gas switches or shooting an SMB.

You can be a better victim if you have rebreather training.

Could the scuba community have done something more to prevent Guy Garman's death?

I heard the dive shop is withholding the posthumous 1,200 foot T-shirt to discourage future attempts..

Wet, doubles, LPI hose. Why no redundancy?

PfcAJ, it's not that big a deal to oral inflate. I've rehearsed it with wing dumps and entire dives.

Diving a faber LP 108 in a wetsuit

Buy it. Go to about 100 feet (wetsuit pretty compressed). Now let all the air out of your BC. Now try to swim up. If it is too hard then carry a lift bag, or an smb, or a dual bladder wing, or a drysuit. Ascending with the lift bag or the smb should be practiced. Make sure the dump valve...

Is a 5mm wetsuit okay to use.....

Ummm. I dove there three times this Spring. I used a 2-1/2 mil shorty. I was plenty warm for two hour long recreational dives per day. Most of the people on the boats used something similar or just a swimsuit and t-shirt. My experience there has been no deeper than 80 feet and there hasn't...
