Question Weezle Extreme + and drygloves

Speaking only for myself, Zip seals with Kubi rings and Magid or similar gloves work perfectly with fleece undergloves. This system also offers the backup of the seals in case the glove is punctured. (I put a short length of nylon cord under the seals so I can pull it out if the glove floods.)

    Long sleeves on drysuit

Sorry about that. DRIS (Dive Right In Scuba) is a dive shop near Chicago that does, among many other things, dry suit alterations. They are *very* good and have excellent service, but it's really hard to justify shipping from Bulgaria to Chicago just for that. There's got to be someone decent...

    Long sleeves on drysuit

LOL! Good point. With any luck someone, um, "a bit closer" can help.

    Stainless steel hardline tubing project.

Interesting idea. The local dive club is unable to convince members to use the cascade the right way, which vastly reduces its utility. Never thought of using PMVs. I'll pass that along. (I have my own cascade and don't mind turning the valves as I use it.)

Call DRIS about having the arms retailored for you.

    Stainless steel hardline tubing project.

Nope. But those automatic cascade valves would be the cat's ass!

    Stainless steel hardline tubing project.

I just found something with the right approximate diameter (somewhat smaller than what the shape had to be at the end) and bent the tubing around it. Worked great.

How intense is diving on the east coast for a beginner?

I completely spaced it on the area the OP was asking about and thought it was the US East Coast. Oops. My apologies. I will defer to those with actual experience in the right area!

How intense is diving on the east coast for a beginner?

I might be biased since I learned to dive on the east coast. (Maine, for the curious.) Judge the weather and waves, watch the tides, and dive with someone that knows the waters and you should be fine. Like anywhere else, be especially aware of currents and the potential for change. In the...

Survey of Dive Computer for Master's Thesis

He'd have vastly preferred a day at work to the bad day he had diving. Even if it were to have been a bad day at work.

I made the the mistake of saying this to Bernie once.

    Regulator Necklace Setup

You won't get strangled. It'll just come out of the bungee or silicone tubing or whatever. Same if someone grabs it in an OOA situation.

    Poll: mouthpiece

This is sports equipment *and* goes in your mouth. Your poll results can tell you where to start, but you could wind up somewhere completely different. Fair warning.

Can you wear jacket under drysuit?

Yer gonna look like the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man... Heated stuff is great (I have a Blue Heat) but make sure you use it for comfort and not for survival. When it fails you want to stay warm enough long enough to be safe. And, like everything else, fail it will.

Can you wear jacket under drysuit?

This is bit like the question, "How long is a piece of string"? It depends. No matter *what* you wear in 35F water it will keep you warm for a finite period of time. You will lose heat and get cold, eventually. The only questions are how long will take and how much your body temperature can...

Can you wear jacket under drysuit?

Near as I can tell, "good" and "economical" do not meet in the world of dry suit undergarments. I have a Weezle Extreme and love it, but there could be better stuff out there now that's washable like the Weezle.

Question Dive Shop Compressor Power Consumption

But your pints (and quarts) are different from ours. 16 oz. vs 20 and 32 vs. 40 oz. I mean, a quart of beer is a fair bit in either place but it's 25% more on your side of the puddle.

    Regulator Necklace Setup

Another thing to consider is that the necklace can be sized so that it holds the reg in your mouth. If you ever think you might be losing consciousness it could save you until you run out of gas in the tank(s). Just another tool in the box that seemed worth mentioning.

Question Dive Shop Compressor Power Consumption

A wise dive shop owner (yes, there are a few) once told me he *never* complained about the electric bill, which was largely driven by his compressors (both single-phase 240V). When he was using them a lot he was making a *lot* more money than when he used them less often. By contrast, when I...
