    Recommended instructors in Bali

Rouhamm, there are several interesting dive sites in Tioman. Generally they are nice to dive, especially for weekend divers from Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Many divers prefer other islands that are (quite) nearby to Tioman like Aur, Dayang (on the southern part) and Tenggol and Bidong (on the...

    Where to dive in Malaysia

I'm a frequent diver to Perhentian islands, and I live in KL. Sometimes I drove my car via the Gua Musang road but lately, there's a new bus service from KL that goes straight to Kuala Besut jetty (no more taxi from Kota Bharu). Now I take bus from Hentian Putra bus station, very comfortable...

    Scuba Pick-up Lines

I can be pretty fast and steady during current, but always descend and ascend slowly. Never forget the safety stops and use the SMB in every dives :-)

Power: modified flutter kick VS Frog kick

I guess it really depends on the situation, most of the time I use the (modified) frog kick because it gives me the comfort of gliding over slowly, while using the normal flutter kick while tending the mild current and glide over the reef. But there are times when frog kick would potentially...

The thing that has surprised me most about diving!

The thing that surprised me most about diving is, the Titan triggerfishes are more likely to attack me than the reef sharks. ... and if the anemone clown fish are any bigger like the triggerfish's size and have sharp teeth, coral reefs are probably non-diveable :-)

    Hello, just checking in.

Hi MoonWrasse, I've been diving at Perhentian islands the most while sometimes I went to Redang islands too (both in peninsula Malaysia). I did try Bali once and loved it - saw group of Mola Mola there, last year in October.

Installing other model of 2nd stage to Mares's DFC port.

Thanks for the replies, good to know that. About my 2nd stage, like oxyhacker said - the design is a bit on the basic side. the reg would adjust it automatically, I know Mares designed it that way; that's what the DFC are for. But I'm a bit uncomfortable not having the manual override control...

Installing other model of 2nd stage to Mares's DFC port.

Hi, I'm using Mares MR-12 1st stage and Axis Pro as the 2nd stage. Lately I saw a very nice Atomic 2nd stage selling for quite a lower price than its usually do. Before I spend my money on it, I'm wondering if it'd work nicely with my Mares 1st stage. Mares is using the DFC (Diaphragm Flow...

    Hello, just checking in.

Hi, Just registered to ScubaBoard a few minutes ago. As recommended, here's my introduction. I started scuba diving in June 2003, fell in love with the underwater world and has since been frequently returning to the islands. Last year, I went diving almost every alternate weekends (the sea...
