    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Check out Force-E dive center on the west side of the bridge. They used to have maps of the site. http://cdn.force-e.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/bhb-map.jpg

Probably good time for you to get away Bobby. Air temps will be in the mid 60's to the mid 80's.

Snorkeler pulled unconscious from the water at Scuba Club Cozumel.

The SWB stats are pretty alarming world wide. Pretty much always the same. Diver with his/her weights still in place at the bottom. There are devices out there. http://www.freedive.net/SWB/vest1_hi_rez.pdf

    Are scuba regulators life-support equipment?

Don't forget the stealth knob and nut which comes standard.

    Which change to make first?

good tip. brings up the old discussion as to whether the dumps should on the divers side of the wing or not. (Remember DiveRite's debacle?) My most used wing is a little 18 # donut with dump facing me. Using it as you described elevates the valve such that it functions perfectly. Until I thumb...

    Full face snorkeling mask

Yeah, getting a mask dislodged will never happen. Before I put my daughter in a scuba kit, I did with her what my dad did with me. Made certain she could breath from the snorkel without a mask. Mask clearing drills are so important.

    Are scuba regulators life-support equipment?

Good Lord. Are we talking semantics here? Why do I use a long hose? Why does my daughter have an octo?

    BCD failure at 100 feet

No worries. The statement was pretty much buried in the thread. As you stated earlier, pull dumps are fine if used correctly. (Pull on the inflator). Time and time again I've seen even experienced divers pulling on the hose with two hands in an attempt to control buoyancy. Regards. Tim

The new Freedom Contour - The Rolex of backplates.

As a former plastic back pack diver now plate diver I want badly to try one. Only thing for me is I presently stow my DSMB in a MC storage pocket between the plate and my back. Perhaps a few holes on the bottom of the plate to stow the DSMB under and clip off a reel.

    BCD failure at 100 feet

Just my two cents on equipment choices. Forget the pull dump on your inflator hose. Get rid of it and get a simple elbow. Then the only other dump needed to be comfortable is a simple OEM at the butt; just one is needed particularly with a donut wing/bladder. And don't think of a bc as an...

    Water in BCD

Which ever of the dumps you're using during the dive, be certain that dump is at the high part of the bc where the bubble will naturally migrate. Head down, butt dump. Head up, shoulder dump. ---------- Post added January 22nd, 2014 at 09:00 PM ---------- My most used wing is a 18# Oxycheq. If...
