Filmmaker Rob Stewart dies off Alligator Reef

The CCR computer should have logged depth of 0-2 feet, depending on where it was worn on his arm, along with the time at that depth,,and the PPO2 during that time. Makes the diagnosis of hypoxia pretty much fully documented.

    Keeping dive sites a secret

Your video (the first one?) has good footage of the collapsed areas. Johnny's video has only very short glimpses of the exterior. I'm not seeing enough to compare at all, let alone say "identical". I would be quite happy to see it hasn't been damaged, if that is the case. Thanks for sharing the...

    Keeping dive sites a secret

I've dove UB88 twice recently with one of the guys who found it. It has a lot of damage, which mostly appears to be from knuckleheads dropping anchors right on top of it. Way after the fact, but I tend to think your sharing of the numbers was a bad call.

    South Maui Shore Dives?

When I stayed at the Fairmont Maui I had zero interest in doing shoredives elsewhere. The reef off of Polo beach, right out front the hotel, is so good that many boat operators go there for their second dive. My daughter and I were in 6 feet of water when a large turtle came up to say hello...

    DIR and SMB/finger spool location

I do every dive with a Halcyon 6 footer stuffed into the BP pad. You only notice it for a few dives. Not a big deal at all, even when rolling double 130's. Now the 130's, clearly they were created by the devil himself....

Nice footage Pete! A question - if people are using lights, do you get the red light saber effect with the filter?

    Recommendations for a drysuit

90% of the GUE crew out here in SoCal dive either a Santi Elite or a DUI FLX Extreme. The other 10% are in random dry suits and saving for a Santi or DUI. Halcyon in Florida (their shop is Extreme Exposure) distributes and supports/repairs Santi in the USA. That makes a Santi a no brainer since...

    CAT calculation for GUE Fundies

I'm not an instructor, just a recent T2 guy, so grain of salt. The point of the new CAT formula is that you can get rid of all the variable ascent rates and profiles, which vary from Rec, to T1, and T2. You ignore them completely, and just use the same methodology (10fpm ascent rate), and a...

    M1 Grease leak

Or you could just wipe the gizz off with a rag and keep diving it. The tech just got a bit overzealous and injected too much $100 an ounce gizz. As long as it works correctly, problem solved.
