Question BC dump valves aren't working

I just had a quick look at the manual for your BC. It appears that you can dump air using the i3 "system" or manually using the shoulder valve. Have you tried both?

British nurse lost on dive - Red Sea

My wife and I were diving in Cozumel...l can't recall the site. We were at about 80 feet. I came past a large rock on my right and entered a sandy sloping area. Before I could react I was caught by a current running upwards and to the left. I tried to swim back towards my wife and the other...

    Question Fun Azul Valentina

It really depends on your tolerance for cold. Water temps here in Cabo Pulmo were 28 C at the beginning of last week, but are now down to 26 C. When we dove Cabo Pulmo as well as Socorro three years ago in March, water temps were similar in both places. I wore a 3 mil shorty this past week and...

what causes yoyo motion while drysuit diving?

It's hard to say exactly but what you've describing is usually caused by buoyancy changes.....breathing deeply?.....possibly you're moving a bit vertically when you kick? You do have another "air pocket" with a drysuit which is subject to depth changes. You may have been shallower than you...

Any chance to see a Peregrine Ai?

Why don't you just refer the original question to Shearwater. The Peregrine has an internal rechargeable battery. Not sure how much additional power AI needs but it is a potential issue if it's significant.

Question Possibly prehistoric bone awl - what to do with it?

You've already moved it, so unless you documented the site you found it at, the context is gone. Cleaning it before consulting with a museum or professional archaeologist was also a mistake...who knows what you removed that could be helpful in the analysis. Don't know if it's the type of...

    Anyone support WildlifeCollections ?

I don't really want to track an animal. On the other hand I don't see any harm in other people doing that...so I didn't vote. If the organization wants my money they'll have to be a little bit more specific as to what it's used for and how much they donate from each sale.

New guy with Aspy son looking for scuba advice

I know very little about Asperger's Syndrome, but noted that your son gets overwhelmed quickly with too much stimuli. I'm wondering how he would react to a mask flood or an out of air situation, as two examples of what can happen when scuba diving. Can he learn to deal with these issues like...

    Zoo Tampa Stingray Deaths

I'd be interested in how the water became supersaturated with oxygen. Any ideas?

persistent headache for over a year

My son had a similar problem about 5 or 6 years ago. I did a lot of research on the internet and actually got some information on "chronic daily headache". There was one specialist here in Vancouver who saw people with the condition but he was booked up at least a year in advance, so my son...

Closed shearwater teric new in box

If you're in Canada you'll have to pay GST/PST or HST on the declared amount. If it comes via USPost/CanadaPost I believe the service charge is $10-15...other carriers are more, but you can look it up on their website(s). There is no duty.

    Nauseated during dive

Surge in shallow water, where I can see the bottom, will make me nauseous. Fortunately I've never vomited.

    Avoiding "Cruise Ship" Locations

These people exist in the Philippines too. They are not usually Americans, they are definitely not Filipinos and they don't arrive by cruise ship. If you are selective in choosing your dive operation they won't be on your boat, but you may still run into them underwater.....or more likely...

Taxi hostages and running the gauntlet!

I consider Cozumel to be one of the best places to go for divers or other tourists who are the least bit nervous about traveling. If you won't go there because of the taxi union where will you go?

Random thoughts on widening perspective as we learn

I don't think I ever thought I knew it all, but I remember around 50 dives when I thought I was pretty good.....until a very, very, very good DM in Cozumel said "you need to work on your bouyancy".....he was right. I do notice my mistakes now and am more critical of my diving....it was nice a...

Advice on a good laptop for editing

I did a bit of research.....please keep in mind that these are my thoughts only, other people will have different ideas that are just as valid and maybe more so. To start with I've always preferred ASUS motherboards and AMD CPU's, so I'll go with those. They've always worked for me so I've...

Advice on a good laptop for editing

I'd recommend a desktop rather than a laptop for photo or video editting. Software demands more RAM, CPU and video power with each new release and your photo/video files get larger. Desktops have more "room" to upgrade and are generally less expensive to start with.
