I have the same issue with my DIN reg so always carry an allen key to tighten it if needed. I can usually hear mine leaking when I open the tank. Since I'm aware of the problem I put my ear close to the 1st stage to listen. My wife has the same brand/type of regs and it never happens to hers.

If she wants a quiet area to snorkel she should go to Los Frailes. It's a sheltered bay just south of Cabo Pulmo. The northern end is a rocky point with decent sea life. You'll need a vehicle to get there.

Who are you diving with?

Yes there are good snorkeling tours in Cabo Pulmo. Just go down to the dive boat/shop area and pick from one of several of the operations. The Jack's are schooling right now and are often near the surface so a snorkel tour (from a boat) is the way to go.

It must be a real burden to be right all the time because you have to go to such great lengths just to prove it to everyone else.

This was also emphasized in my Wilderness First Responder course and in all the recertifications. You always make sure that the situation is safe before you tend to or rescue someone else.
