    Dive computer help please

I did a review of the Zoop, which is posted here: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/computers-gauges-watches-analyzers/476179-my-review-suunto-zoop.html The thread also has some comparison with the Puck and the Leonardo.

    Cressi Leonardo Computer

I don't have the Leonardo, but I do have a .pdf of the owner's manual. There's no mention of the words "console" or "boot" in the .pdf that I searched. And leafing through the manual, there doesn't seem to be a reference to removing the computer from the boot. But there is a picture of what...

Hate paying airline add-on fees? This NYT article might change your mind.

It's not cheating if you play by the rules. ;) It's the rules that are the problem. The passengers are being the "rational economic actors" that the economists assume people are.

Hate paying airline add-on fees? This NYT article might change your mind.

The airlines have experimented with various computer algorithms to see how they can complete the boarding process quicker (it's a sorting problem) and have tried different arrangements. The problem is, unlike the military's brilliant system (Go directly to your seat and sit down. Period.), most...

Hate paying airline add-on fees? This NYT article might change your mind.

The airlines already make the base rate inclusive: it's called first class. ---------- Post added May 10th, 2014 at 02:49 PM ---------- Agreed, but IMO it's directly driven by charging for checking a bag and allowing free carry-on. Loading the plane is delayed by the need for everyone to...

Hate paying airline add-on fees? This NYT article might change your mind.

From a New York Times article published today: I'd love to post the entire article here, but it would violate the NYT's copyright. So here's a link: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/09/upshot/why-you-should-pay-frontiers-carry-on-bag-fee-with-a-smile.html?partner=rss&emc=rss&src=ig&_r=0 At some...

    Q & A for Suunto Diving Products

I will take that as a yes. There is less uncertainty and thus more comfort in life when people share their experience. Thank you for your help.

    Q & A for Suunto Diving Products

I zoomed in on the pic. Did the screwdriver chew up the black ring a bit? I ask so I know what to expect.

Training then. This is what was state of the art advice in 1968

It hasn't. The comment was sarcasm directed at the text in the OP (which was quoting a book from the 1960's):

Custom mouthpiece on you donor reg: problem?

I recently read an article, Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction in Diving, in the winter 2014 issue of Alert Diver, the DAN publication, and I was going to post the same query as the OP. The final sentence of the article says: I too have a long hose for the primary second stage and a...

    Q & A for Suunto Diving Products

Thank you for your reply. So, to make sure that I understand, what you are saying is to insert the blade of the screwdriver into the gap between the bezel (the gray ring with numbers) and the boot and pry the bezel out? (After soaking in hot water, of course.)

Giving the 7mm wetsuit a little trim

Have you done a dive with the suit yet? If not, you might want to try the suit in the water as is first. Sometimes things are less uncomfortable once in the water. Perhaps a pool dive to see if being in the water makes a difference. I would also take the suit back to the shop and ask them to...

    Q & A for Suunto Diving Products

I didn't find Tobin helpful. I had read the instructions that DSS had posted on its website about soaking the compass in hot water, and assumed I could use them, but once I got the compass I needed clarification. So I sent him an email, which read: He replied promptly (but unhelpfully)...

    Q & A for Suunto Diving Products

Chris@Suunto I purchased the SK-7 compass and would like to remove the capsule and bezel from the Suunto boot so I can install those components in a DSS bungee mount. I am having trouble getting instructions from Suunto on how to do that. I emailed Suunto customer support and was told: That...

Thanks for the replies. If it refers to money, I'm sure it would be 20 pence.

Does a dive club need liability insurance

My comment is in the context of a simple dive club, which I take to be a group of divers who get together to dive and have barbecues and so on. The club I am envisioning is not incorporated and has no significant assets beyond the unspent dues in the treasurer's bank account. My comments do not...
