    Dry suit advice needed x2

I cannot help with pricing, but I can expound on the zipseal gloves. The tradeoff they present is the absence of a bulky ring that can (and does) bang into things, reduce mobility, and get caught up on stuff - like pockets. This is in exchange for developing a new feel/process for gearing up...

    Waterproof meshtec

I have and have used a meshtec top. It provides about the same warmth as a 400 gram wool shirt. I am most comfortable with an extra two pounds of lead when I use the top - as such it has moved to my backup bin.

    Dry suit knee sqeeze

For me, the pressure behind the knees was not squeeze, but rather a result of my undergarment being too long. As I kicked the material would bunchu p at the knees - very noticeable in that I would loose a lot of flexibility and get pressure marks / bruising behind my knees. Getting shorter...

What are your 3 favorite pieces of SCUBA Gear???

    1) Sherwood VIDA Mask (also the Allure - which seems to be the same mask with higher end glass). The only mask I have found that does not leak - that in and of itself made a world of difference in my diving pleasure. 2) Vintage Double Hose 35lb wing. It can be tough to get air our of (due to...

    Looking for whiskers

Anyone have a pair of whisker they would be willing to part with? They are out of stock at the store with no ETA. Feel free to PM me with details.

Drysuit urine management survey - men

I found that using the plumbing during a dive became habit forming. I could hold it just fine until I installed the valve. Sure there were one or two mad rushes to hit the head, but overall I could make it the 1.5 hours the total dive experience took (zip to unzip so to speak). However, now...

    Question on Recsea RX100MKIV Housing

In case this turns up in a search - according to RECSEA, this was due to manufacturing variability in the Sony RX100MKV. I have not had the opportunity to test, but they claim to have fixed the problem by placing o-rings around protrusion in the housing (the teeth that grab the control ring) -...

FF Pro - report and question on sizing

Got out last night for a nice dive. I tested the fins using 6mm sneaker soled booties (over a 3mil drysuit bootie) - a definite no go, I could not seat the fin onto my foot. They jammed on the top of my foot not fully seating to the curve of the pocket. I could foresee a very painful dive in...

FF Pro - report and question on sizing

I am a dude with size 13 wide feet. Not sure what is natural in the kicking department. I do know that when I stretch my legs out, they head for the surface :) Keeping them tucked in (modified frog kick) helps keep my trim. My older son (15yrs) naturally goes for a Dolphin kick - nothing we...

FF Pro - report and question on sizing

I wear a size 13 shoe. They are XXL. I will take a photo next dive. I can say that they do not wobble when on, but my fore foot definitely comes up off them. I will get out this week and should be able to report back - if not I will play dress up at home and take a photo.

FF Pro - report and question on sizing

I recently bought a pair of yellow FF Pros. I dive in a yellow drysuit and these finds make my suit look shabby - they practically glow underwater (which I find awesome). I got to try the fins out last night and based on what I read here, I am on my way to becoming a fanboy: because - I...

    New a6xxx housing from Meikon

Glad to see the Leak Sentinel! I have the housing for the Sony a9, so being unwilling to wait, I went ahead and got the Sea Frogs VPS-100 until this came out. I have used it for a couple of dives and per the instructions have removed it prior to each dive. All was well and I was feeling a...

    New a6xxx housing from Meikon

Any update on keeping the VPS-100 attached to the housing while diving? The “lowest common denominator” rational seems a little contrived. It seems to me to be easier to leave it in and pressurized than to be swapping out seals. Thanks

    Question on Recsea RX100MKIV Housing

I picked up a Recsea RX100MKIV aluminum housing for use with my RX100 MKV for use on a trip to Cabo (and beyond). I like the housing overall, but there is a major glitch. The control ring on the front of the housing (and one of the major differentiators from the competition) stops engaging the...

Looking for opinions on new dry suit

I recently moved from a Fusion Bullet to a DUI (H2Operations FWIW). The biggest advantage to the Fusion is that if you yo-yo diet, the suit will expand and shrink with you. I have several dislikes with respect to the fusion: 1) As noted zipper placement - restricts arm movement; 2) the neck...

Soft Reg Bag for Deep6 Setup

I use the orange box for a save a dive kit that I keep in my truck (I mostly shore dive). After trying several reg bags, I started using a 14" Husky tool bag from Home Depot. It fits my reg system and my pony bottle system perfectly. I has a thinner profile than most tool bags so it fits in...

    Eon Core question

One thing to watch out for when updating your views - you can wipe out the compass. Basically, for each style, there are multiple views (compass, default, pressure gauge). I mistakenly set up my eon core with just a default view. It is not fun at 40ft in surge to find out that you have no...

    G2 zipseal difference

I just picked up a H2O Operations suit at the parking lot sale last month with a G2 neck. A couple of things I have noticed: 1) I am coming from a white's fusion and having a soft neck ring is awesome - no more pressure points on my shoulders. 2) Yes, the larger sized opening is noticeably...
