    CHDK is not an option

I've also now installed CHDK on one of my memory cards to try it out. I'd like to know, what you guys use it for. I - added some custom stuff on the screen (battery percentage, clock, memory card space left and zoom position) - prepared a shutter speed value override setting to 1/1000 (to use...

    CHDK is not an option

With G12 + WP-DC34 + 2 x Dyron diopters the area of focus is a couple of centimeters away from the diopter, so I would move back if it was possible. :)

    CHDK is not an option

Yes, metering is set to 'spot' and internal flash is at minimum (doesn't really make a difference, since it's blocked, does it)? I can't move the strobe too much farther, since I was already really close (taking test photos with stacked Dyron macro diopters). And yes, the housing is Canon...

    CHDK is not an option

When using manual mode, I'm having trouble getting low enough exposure for taking macro photos of white objects. My setup is Canon G12 + Inon D-2000. I tried manual mode with F/8, 1/250, ISO 80, strobe at minimum power and EV compensation (?) at -2. Still the white parts get overexposed. On...

Lembeh Strait, Sulawesi, Indonesia | August 2011

Thanks, those are my favourites, too! :) @alcina, I really envy you.. It's a great place to dive and every (macro) photographers dream. I'll go again for sure, enjoy your trip! :)

    Canon G12 v. S100

    G12 doesn't shoot 1080p. It can only manage 720p..

Lembeh Strait, Sulawesi, Indonesia | August 2011

Here are some of the shots I managed to take with my set in Lembeh Strait last August. This is my first trip with this set, so I'm still learning. ;) I'm using Canon PowerShot G12 in Canon WP-DC34 housing, Dyron 67 mm and 77 mm macro diopters and Inon D-2000. All the photos are here in Flickr

    Watches

I've been trying to find a nice looking wrist watch, which could be used for diving. Price range would be around $50-$500, but can be more, if I find something especially nice. :) I'd like the watch to have a metal bracelet and (if possible) a screen which won't get scratched. Self-powered gas...

canon G 12 with Dyron + 7 close up lens

Okay, so I've finally managed to upload some photos to Flickr. Here are some from Lembeh taken with one Dyron 67 mm macro diopter (DY.UCL67II). Flickr: Hectorrrrrrrrrr's stuff tagged with dyron67mm7macrodiopter And here are some with stacked 67 mm (DY.UCL67II) and 77 mm (DY.UCL77). Flickr...

Problem with an Inon D-2000 Type

A question concerning D2000 sTTL: does the strobe have to be pointed straight at the target (say, nudibranch) in order for the strobe to function well in TTL or can it be pointed, for instance, behind it to avoid backscatter?

Wide Angle wet lens for Canon G11/G12 with Canon housing

Thanks for the info. I would definitely go to an Inon reseller, but there is none here in Finland. :) I've been trying to find photos taken with G12 + Inon UWLH-100 + Canon WP-DC34 housing, but haven't found any yet.

Wide Angle wet lens for Canon G11/G12 with Canon housing

I, personally, have abandoned Fantasea BigEye and other such items after seeing so many photos with blurry edges and reflections when taking photos against the sun. Has anyone come across photos taken with G12 + Canon WP-DC34 housing + Inon UWL-100 (+dome)? Would be interesting to see them...

Wide Angle wet lens for Canon G11/G12 with Canon housing

Generally speaking: can you use 67 mm wide angle lenses with G12 in WP-DC34 housing, which produce GOOD, SHARP images (no soft edges etc.)? I'm thinking of getting one, but don't want to spend hundreds of euros for nothing. :) If this is possible, what are my options? So far I've found some: -...

canon G 12 with Dyron + 7 close up lens

Okay, I will upload some photos to Flickr (possibly today and post here). Might be also helpful to someone struggling with the same decisions (Inon or Dyron) I had to make 12 months ago.. :)

canon G 12 with Dyron + 7 close up lens

Nice photos! Could someone using an Inon lens (or stacked Inon lenses) comment on the photo quality (how it compares to Inon)? I have a Dyron 67 mm + 77 mm macro lenses myself and am interested, if Inon lenses are better or not.

    Canon G1X

For me this is good news. I can happily keep taking photos with my G12 + 2 x Dyron macro lenses. Otherwise, I might have wanted to upgrade. :)

    Canon G1X

The camera specs seem perfect for me - other than the focusing distance. Can someone explain, how it is affected when using macro lenses (either one Dyron 67 mm macro lens or Dyron 67 mm + Dyron 77 mm ontop of each other)? I currently use G12 with the abovementioned lenses. Will I not be able to...

    G12 ??

One of these or these will help. I have one (the latter one without the red thingy) and have found it very useful!

    Canon G12 help

I have a G12 and the Canon WP-DC34 housing. Some claim that they've had leak issues with Canon housings, but this is my second Canon housing (had one with my Canon Ixus 110 IS before) and I've had no such problems. The things that speak for the Canon housing are 1) price, 2) size and 3) weight...
