    Zeagle Ranger Pocket Zipper Config

my wife sets her weight given the gear config for the trip. IE, 3 mil shorty + alm tank. Then we zap tie the weight pocket closed. Given that you have the rip cord system to dump the weights, this lets you feel for the only zipper that is free and you are in the pocket with eyes closed...

    air travel with gear

Hey guys I am headed out to Roatan this winter. I have had a number of bad experiances with the way that various airlines abuse bags etc... I am also worried a little about theft given that I have heard reports that gear commonly walks off. I am tempted to stuff all the good stuff, regs...

    Safety-conscious Divers

For the buddy that may or may not react appropriately in an emergency situation I weight up a little differently. I weight all but about 4 to 6lbs in a non ditchable trim pouches. That way if someone ever ditches my weights on me or by accident they released you are only dealing with say 4 to...

    Safety-conscious Divers

To me a safe diver means 5 things 1) They understand their physical state - fitness, health, nitrogen, etc... 2) They dive with a solid margin of safety for the unforseeable 3) They dive well within the scope of their training and experiannce 4) They Plan, Checklist, and then Critiquue...

Short Plus Sized Woman Needs BC Advice!

I would try a bunch out before you buy one. My wife was a few years ago sized similar. She has since lost alot of weight (diving helped alot with that). Anyways you might want to consider the Zeagle Ranger. Given that you can extend or shrink the cumberbund, and the straps it might give you...

    Worst Mishap

3 times have I felt that things were spiraling into the danger zone. The first was one an early spring dive in one of the local lakes. The water was very very cold, but there was no ice so I did not really think of the freezing factor. Anyways at 60' after a large portion of the dive was...

    First Dive Recommendations?

If you are in and around Alberta canada, there is some fantastic diving to be had in the moutain lakes. Again you will need a dive shop that will help with this. You can start my snorkeling and go from there. At first the water life seems kind of scary, but when you consider that you have...

    significant other taking up diving

well my wife and I have been diving MANY times together now. We had a few tense discussions about how close to stay, hand signals etc.... But like any good dive buddy once you iron that out, it makes for a very trusting and enjoyable experiance. My wife has become one of my most trusted...

    Best diving locations...in the world

All I can say if diving BC, is make sure that you take the dry suit training. It gets mighty cold in all but summer. Fantastic diving, and even better night diving. Kinda spoiled given that it is a short 8 hour drive from my house.

    help recommmend resort

Thanks for the input. I have a new BC to try out, and we want some easy diving for our newly certified friends. These sound like great places to start. I have done the iberostar in both playa and cozumel. They were both great resorts for the money but the diving in cozumel was far better...

Where to book for a great first spear trip?

try some of the fresh water lakes in your area. sometimes the smaller sun fish can be a riot. My wife and I go for yellow perch all the time, and we challenge each other to get the biggest. Bag limits are also quite good with 30 allowed between the two of us each time we go out. Alot...

    BC question for Amputee.

This is all good news. I having had cancer had them remove a block of tissue from my neck. As a result my right arm is kinda shot. Really with a little thought rigging your stuff one handed operation is very possible. I wish my right arm was the one to work but in my case my left is the good...

    Boat motors through Dive site

get it on video. If you video tape the boat, the offender and the serial numbers etc... they can be charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, or attempted assult, etc..... The trick is convincing the lay officer that they really did put your life at risk. Also since everyone is...

    computer in a pool

Hey Everyone My wife just got a new Tusa Zen dive comp for her birthday. What is the general concensus about using a diver computer in a pool for practice purposes? I would assume that you would need to wash it off after one is done so that it is chlorine free. Is this likely to damage...
