BP users - Weight belt, weight harness or pockets?

12 lb Seasoft belt, sitting just under the waistbelt for the BP works fine for me. Although the Helios is lighter than the Explorer, it is still over 2 lb. of weight, but at that price, it is hard for me to consider it "ditchable"!

Has anyone used a Diving Concepts Drysuit?

You should be able to get the gloves on and off by yourself. For removal, push the ring into your chest, then pull on the side of the ring away from your chest to separate the glove from the suit. It's easy to show, kind of hard to explain. Once you have it figured out, it's easy. I've never had...

and like the chevy-ford thing, is it really worth arguing(debating) about?

    US Divers Calypso history

The first regulator I ever bought was a US Divers Calypso in 1972. The piston first stage yoke was not removable, it was forged to the body, it had an HP port, and I think a LP port at each end. The second stage had an all metal cover, snaps for a neckstrap(included) and no provision for user...

    Dry Suit Choice

I have a DC ultraflex (5th D 1000). My suit has stretch under the arms due to the fabric bias. What it doesn't have is seams under the armpits, which really do limit the fabric stretching (and reaching valves!). The trilaminate material dries quickly(an hour or two), and isn't heavy when it is...

Has anyone used a Diving Concepts Drysuit?

I Have a Diving Concepts Ultraflex trilaminate suit, custom made. (5th D. 1000) The quality of materials and fit are excellent. I use it with a D.C. TPS Extreme undergarment in Puget Sound and have no complaints. However It does take a long time to get the final product, With all the double...

    full or two piece wetsuit?

Two piece for versatility makes sense, but I prefer the flexibility of the one piece jumpsuit. Less rubber around your midsection, less buoyant. If you already have a shorty for warmer conditions, go with the one piece.

    Cleaning p-valves?

I've heard about bladder infections from foleys(internal caths) in the hospital, but not from external caths when diving. I use water to flush out the system after use.

    Just Received my first Drysuit!

I do like being able to drink all the water I want and not having to worry. The first experience with a P valve is like the first time breathing underwater... "Oh, this is cool"

    Just Received my first Drysuit!

Nothing like getting new gear, especially when you've been waiting for it 3 months!! Did you go with the P valve? Definitely a good accessory to have.

    Dive Planning with a Stinger

The Vytec will allow you to add surface interval to its planning; the Stinger doesn't. The charts or deco software are better to use, because you use your own brain and will learn from it.

    scubapro equipment

I would say that Scubapros line up of equipment is of excellent quality, but if you look around, you will see that there are some other companies making great gear, also. Apeks regulators, Halcyon BP& Wings,etc... It boils down to what you feel comfortable with, and the type of diving you plan...

    Winter Diving withdrawal syndrome

I'll admit it, I guess I'm lucky. Water and air temps. are still in the 40's, and the water is clearer now(winter in Puget Sound). Usually, optional paralysis sets in: do I ski, or do I dive? Not this year, the snow isn't worth getting excited about, and after listening to all you guys, I'd...
