    White balance with Canon S90

It is straightforward... but that wasn't a sure thing.

    Scuba Divers and Weight Belts:

Thanks, DD... she's in my spare Halcyon bp/w, so other than the belt she's in good shape. :) (actually, there's no "problem" with the belt she has, I just suspect she'd like a rubber one better, same as I do!) I'll drop you a line about making another belt for me (her). Let's stick with...

    Scuba Divers and Weight Belts:

Ok, you finally inspired me to take some shots. I hope DD doesn't mind me sharing his design. (If so, let me know, and I'll edit out all but a vague description) From a distance, it looks like any other pocket weight belt (well-worn, at that). Closer up, however, you can see the belt is...

    Scuba Divers and Weight Belts:

I feel like a turd. :( Sorry I didn't give you more feedback... I LOVE this belt. :D One of these days I'm going to have to see if I can copy your design and make one for my wife. (unless you feel like making more at some point LOL)

    Fisheye FIX for the S90

Int'l shipping makes it more expensive, of course, but I believe Fun-In ships to the US, no problem.

    Fisheye FIX for the S90

FWIW, Fisheye FINALLY has an English Language page up for the S90 housing: FIX S90 Interestingly, though, only the Japanese page includes the link to the sample wide angle test shots. Also, I came across a couple of potentially interesting adapters, that MIGHT be handy with the Fix housing...

    Fisheye FIX for the S90

That's ok, because I'll be the one swimming away with a nice new D300 rig. :D

    Fisheye FIX for the S90

Nuts. Sounds like I'll have to add an order for that, at some point. I guess I can live without it for this weekend, however.

    Fisheye FIX for the S90

Absolutely. Any time you want to trade your D300 for my S90, just say the word! :mooner:

    Fisheye FIX for the S90

Well, I'm scheduled for a boat to Catalina on Saturday. If the housing makes it to me by Friday and it assembles without incident, and conditions permit, I'll hopefully get at least some shots I can put up. Conditions have been LOUSY for two weeks (and I was busy for a week prior!), so I'm...

    Fisheye FIX for the S90

Well, my Fix housing is finally en route. Hopefully I'll get it in time to with it dive on Saturday. Got the box, Nem, thanks! Can't wait to put it all together! If all goes well, I should have some test shots (bare housing and with stacked macro lenses... both with D2000 strobe of course)...

To DM or not to DM...

Old thread! Yes, I've been a DM for a few years now. I only work when I feel like it, though... I mostly dive for me. Or were you referring to my wife's dive plans? That ultimately worked out as well. She can only dive when the stars align with good conditions, good back day, and free time...

    Galileo Sol v.s. Suunto D9 ?

A lower price than the D9 and similarly tiny size. Otherwise, same drawbacks... tiny screen, you have to look close to see, and still have to flip through multiple screens to see relevant information during the dive. My buddy has an Atom, and while it's a fine computer, I'd buy the Oceanic VT3...

Canon S90 in Canon WP-DC35 Housing: First impressions

Based on your earlier comment: "Canon sells a weight kit to go with their housing, while the Ikelite only claims to be 'neutrally buoyant under water.'" ... I would say the Ikelite will be neutral, and the Canon will be positive. (Most Canon OEM housings are positive, without weight, be it...

    Galileo Sol v.s. Suunto D9 ?

I agree with you on the Liquivision... a purely recreational diver won't be happy with it. For the technical diver, it's excellent. I disagree 100% with the Galileo Sol/Luna. They are excellent recreational computers with large, easy-to-read displays, an excellent track record, and they are...

    Fisheye FIX for the S90

With 2 UCL-165 ADs, stacked, there is always vignetting unless you zoom in a few stops. This is normal with these lenses. It's not a problem to zoom in because you want the subject to fill the frame as much as possible anyway, else you wouldn't need the add-on lenses.

    Fisheye FIX for the S90

DiverVision carries most of the stuff 10bar makes, so I checked their site, and lo and behold, they do have a 55mm to AD adapter. It looks a little thick, though, so I'm not sure if it would work as well as yours. 10Bar Adaptor Ring for 55mm Thread to INON AD Mount #FL-AR-ADF-M55 I also...

    Fisheye FIX for the S90

Got pix? I just spoke to Richard, at Reef. He says they don't have any of the final revision 28 AD adapters in yet, just the preproduction test version. And apparently Ryan just left on a 2 week vacation. :depressed: On the bright side, Backscatter has some GREAT (and detailed, and fairly...

How many use BP/W for single tank warm rec diving?

I would expect this more from SoFla than SoCal. The poster I was responding to is from SoCal, same as me. I get what you're saying, however.

How many use BP/W for single tank warm rec diving?

We must frequent different boats. I see them all the time. Some boats, bp/w's far outnumber BC's, other times it's the reverse. There's almost always at least a couple on a boat with 10 or more divers, though.
