Shrugs you asked for science. Got a study with 2 data points 28 days apart which was really testing if sealing was effective for a 28 day pause between dives (it is). Decided less than overnight was science enough :drunks:
This was over a month-long duration! And in that particular axial CCR scrubber which cannot really be extrapolated to other scrubbers designs like a radial, other than "open for a month is bad"
No there's no scientific approach because there is no standardized air flow. Nor is there a standardized scrubber.
But as a general rule it's not a big deal in the short term (day). Exhaled breath has percent quantities of CO2 and the atmosphere as part per million. The degradation experienced...
Sure except... you know that folks are doing those military or commercial deco exposures in water? in 2025?
Just because they are in the tables doesn't mean the experience is there behind them. In my own jurisdiction, commercial in-water deco is basically not done regardless of what the DCIEM...
No because anyone with any money (commercial or military) is decoing in a chamber.
And there's basically no way to pass an ethics review having divers risking their lives in the water
You can helmet mount a gopro 10.300.-Cave Diving Helmet
But nobody but you will enjoy the resulting video. And you'll look terrible taking it.
Put the gopro on a camera tray with proper lights.
The sharkskins are "neutrally buoyant" but they are definitely not "equivalent to a 3mm". In the water they really only prevent water from exchanging over your skin, they provide nearly no insulation of their own since they only trap a boundary layer of water against your skin.
I would get...
Tanks hanging and going every which way is both sloppy and radically increases drag. Drag creates work and effort. More work and effort leads to more gas consumption and more CO2 to blow off. It's all connected.
Not in the United States, there is no such thing as a water taxi. The captain is responsible for passengers even if they are "let off the taxi" and in the water.
There are certainly plenty of folks exiting the water with over 100% CNS which is only 45mins of cumulative O2 time afterall, nevermind the CNS accumulated on the bottom and on other deco gases. Shrugs, does it matter sure, is the clock accurate? not at all
Newer bands are standardized on 8.5" centers. Older bands who knows it was all over the map.
If you find someone making 6.9" bands in 2025 I'll be surprised
