    Grand Cayman shore dives

When I searched for flights to Bonaire all the ones that came up went from Houston to Minnesota or Atlanta or Miami before going to Bonaire - and they all had a long layover - plus they were over $1000 per person. We'll do Cayman this year and then try to find a direct flight to Bonaire next...

    Grand Cayman shore dives

appreciate all the info - we actually found a pretty good deal at a small family run B&B that is very close to Don Foster's and Sunset house - their website says the husband of the "family" is a dive master so can get info from him as well. Yes, we've heard of Bonaire and want to go there - but...

my husband and I really love shore dives - thinking of going to Grand Cayman next spring - I see Sunset house has on site shore diving - but they are pretty expensive...thinking of maybe staying somewhere less expensive and renting tanks/weights from dive shops for shore dives - anyone have...

    TG3 vs TG4

have a TG3 and love it - only thing I don't like is it takes a few steps to go from macro to the wide angle - kind of a pain underwater. looks like the TG4 has fixed this issue - looking at photos of the camera is the fish icon on the dial the macro setting? also - will the TG4 fit in the same...

    sea sick

I grew up boating with my parents, married a boat mechanic and have been on the water in all sorts/sizes of boats - never once got sea sick - until I was on a boat to dive - then I've been sick every single time! Don't know if it's my nerves - always a little nervous before a dive - which means...

    problem with my computer

Thanks for the info! Yeah, I'm sure they knew about it but if they claim not to then they don't have to fix it. Don't much like Windows 10 but had to upgrade to a new computer for several reasons and they all come with it now.

    problem with my computer

I have a Galileo dive computer - works fine - having problems connecting it to my laptop to download my dive log. always worked ok, but had to get a new laptop and it has windows 10...can't seem to get it to read when I try to download. I know the infrared sensor is reading because it works...

    Hair

so, does anyone have any ideas about how to keep your hair out of your face when diving? I cut my hair short, but don't really like it, so letting it grow out again. Not long enough for a ponytail yet, have tried an hood and a do-rag but neither keep my hair out of my face.

Headed to Florida in a few weeks - wanted to do a shark tooth dive - have seen that off the beach is bad right now due to some dredging going on - looked up boat dives for shark teeth - found these two...Florida West and Scuba Monkey - Florida west seems to have a shark tooth dive every day -...

    Ears...after diving

I was using the swimmer's ear stuff before diving because I read on a thread here that someone suggested that - seemed to help - but maybe it was in my head. Never heard of the 50/50 stuff - will give that a try. Yes, I turn my head and let water get in there. I have had issues in the past...

    Ears...after diving

So I typically have issues getting my ears to clear - usually once I'm past about 15' I have no more problems. Have tried several things - use swimmers ear drops a few days prior to diving, start equalizing before my head is even under the water, equalize with every breath and sometimes it...

    PADI travel network??

So, get these e-mails from time to time with deals through PADI on trips - one I just got is for several resorts in Bonaire, as a quick look they look like a good deal - wondering if anyone has ever taken any of these trips and how was it? I do notice you need to read the fine print - the...

    Advanced Open Water

you know, I think this is just like everything else in life - yes, some divers will be over confident because they are "advanced" divers while others will take things a bit slower even though they have had the AOW class - just like there will be some instructors who will seriously try to teach...

    peak performance buoyance

Thanks - we were just wondering because all the PADI videos we've seen have people in the pool when they show people taking PPB - and photos in the PADI book for that matter. I would like to take the full PPB course at some point and while I know first hand the "how you think you are and how...
