    Some Thoughts on Independent Doubles

I am not sure how different they are. But the thight webbings makes it different for me to put it on. Main problem is the bladdern. To sustain positive bouyancy they have to be inflated. And they restrict the arm movement a lot while putting the gear on. When on land i need to deflate the...

    Some Thoughts on Independent Doubles

There is no way i could don my d12 in the water. At least not without help. I dive DIr harness, which makes it a bit difficult to put it on. Floating in the water? No way.

    Some Thoughts on Independent Doubles

true and an issue i thought about recently. Thats the reason why i though about SM for holidays. So you bringt tank bands(is that the correct English name?) With you and just strap 2 tanks on? That is actually a very good reason, at least for NDL or very short deco dives with a good safety margin.

    Some Thoughts on Independent Doubles

Thats something that comes to my mind aswell.. If someone can lift doubles, they should be able to manipulate manifolds. Of course there are always exceptions.. But the amount of people prefering ID is surprisingly high. I dont want to be rude, but i learned, that if someone cant manipulate...

    Some Thoughts on Independent Doubles

So its because of the physical condition? Thats an answer i can understand and agree on. But generally manifolds are much safer and not hard to manipulate. So besides the physical inability to reach the valves, i cant see any reasons.

    Some Thoughts on Independent Doubles

I dont really get the advantage of ID BM. I dive manifolds open. If something happens i can just close them. The possibility is much higher, that a first stage fails, which doesnt require ID. So i can just close the valve and dive with both tanks. I see more disadvantages then advantages. And...

    Dive flag?

Somtimes local fishers come closer to the shore then allowed. And be careful on divesites with a pier, like buddydive or cpt dons. Here the diveboats do come in shallow waters. Descent and ascent shallow and you should be fine. Carry a dsmb anyway. When i went out snorkeling/freediving in...

34 dives to 15 feet in 4 hours - symptoms

Dcs in that shallow water is possible. Dehydration and many ups and downs are the risk faktor here. I heared about dcs in 15ft pool in owd classes, because of massive dehydration (drinking a lot of alcohol the night before). And not so long ago, someone posted an article on sb, where dcs in...

Ice Diving and Great Lake Undergarment ideas

I dive X-NINE undergarment with a thin baselayer and a santi heating vest with gloves. Even without the heating gear i can dive 4degree water without problems. And i freeze really fast! The X NINE is very flexible compared to other stiff materials

Just switched to drysuit & air consumption has gone up

My consumption goes up from 9l/min diving wet, to 14l/min diving dry. But i also use D12 diving dry and mono12 for wet diving. So i have way more water resistance. I am equally relaxed diving dry and wet. So its actually just the water resistance. Do a few dives and it will improve.

    Drysuit neck seal rolls up

Had the same problem, when starting drysuitdiving. Just pull the seal down and use a bit talcum. Then it wont roll anymore. I do not recommend stretching latex seals. They will stretch anyway and there is no need to force it.

Difference Between Feeding & Observation Bull Shark Dives At PDC?

Not been there yet, but i am against feeding sharks. I hope you think about it aswell and choose the observation dives. Its better for the sharks and its more natural.

Things you are (almost but not really) ashamed of doing while diving

This thread is about things we are ashamed of. Peeing in my wetsuit is not part of that category :D I was half ashamed, when my pee condom failed and i pissed in my drysuit, because i realized it to late. But then it was kinda funny and i tell the story without shame. As long as it gets a...

    What's in the upgrade?

Nice update, but the recent posts button is now hidden in the Menu. I would like to have it more accessable. With a fast click i can see what changed. Thats not possible anymore. Maybe bring the button back to the main menu? Talking about mobile

Scuba Diver Panic from 15 meters - Scuba Diving Incident Analysis

They dont understand that, too. They know its wrong. They always apologize on the surface. But in panic, there are no smart decisions. Panic kills

How effective are drysuits? I feel the cold!

I dive dry. Heating vest and gloves. With 400g undergarment + thick baselayer. I dont like being cold.

Scuba Diver Panic from 15 meters - Scuba Diving Incident Analysis

I had something similar.. only 4m deep in the pool. Forced the reg back in, which surprisingly worked. But then the student didnt continue breathing. I cleared the reg with the purge button, but the student is still holding their breath. Glad it was only 4m and the lung was probably pretty...

    Hello from Germany

+1 for the "see im berg". Its epic with viz from 30-40m. Depth maximum 45 and all wall dives. Kreidesee hemmoor is very very good aswell. Arguably the best lake in germany. Deep and shallow with lots of different dives. Hunsfels is kinda new. Has the nickname: small hemmoor. Also only wall...
