THE "PERFECT ( being horizontal ) TRIM" HOAX

This thread is still alive? Nice let's put some wood into the fire.. I am nearly always horizontal. But I can go upside down or whatever if I want to. And I don't care how someone else dives. BUT!!!!! Nealry all divers I have met in real life, who said they don't want to be horizontal, because...

What proportion of scuba divers can equalize ears "no hands"?

I couldn't when I learned diving. Then I really was practicing it on land. All the day. But I still had problems when I had a mouthpeace in my mouth. Then I practiced it more. So much, that I could do it while diving and didn't have to think about it anymore. I now have the habit to equalize...

    PFO and Helium

I think bubblesize is the more relevant factor. Are there mayor differences in helium and air regarding bubblesize?

Another Hose Length & Routing Question

I am interested in why you ruled out the 7ft? I dive a 7ft in every dive. It's way more tight on the body then a 5ft. I don't feel the hose during the dive. And I really disliked my octo for that reason.

Managing scuba ear problems (not equalizing)

My doc told me, that the wax can hold water. That way the water is longer in the ear and can cause infections. I clean the wax before the dive and use alcohol vinegar after the dive and I am fine. If I forget to use the alcohol I get a ear infection 2 days after the dive.

    Help needed analyzing a dive

HMM OK. Not sure why it is that way. Would make sense to show zero, when tissues are saturated. Maybe it shows something different.

    Help needed analyzing a dive

Wait.. Saturated means it's equal to ambient. So every non diver is saturated on the surface. Super saturated means you tissues have more gas then what a nondiver would have.this happens when ascending. For example : Descent to 30m. Tissues are under saturated. Stay at 30m until tissues are...

Can you dive wet in Iceland?

I would dive dry in 30 degree of water, if I wouldn't die of a heat stroke before on land, while putting the dry suit on. Dry suit diving is the best. And <10 degree it's a safety issue when not using proper isolation (dry suit).

    Help needed analyzing a dive

I recommend subsurface aswell. Way easier to read the informations you need. In my opinion he went into deco and cleared it. But a subsurface file would confirm this. Also you friend really should understand his DC and never ever go into deco by accident. And then not recognize it. If he would...

    DAC -> SAC?

That's more or less what you meant, right? Check out min gas calculation. It's not that hard to calculate, but very useful in my opinion.

Agency bashing... what is it and why we don't allow it.

The weirdest argument is: agency X is just there for money. If the agency X would be that bad, then less people would use it and it would make less money. But often that's not the case, so it can't be that bad. Different tools for different jobs is one of the key statements for equipment in...

    Multi level dives

OK I don't know about SSI, in padi you need to calculate square and multi level dives. Have a look at eRdpML It's easier to use then the wheel. Youtube has good explanation Videos. Of course in reality no one uses them..

    Multi level dives

You DM certificate is from padi right? I wonder how do you pass the test, because calculating multilevel dives is part of the written exam you padi DM. The wheel is the very old version. The just a little bit old version is the erdpML. PADI got a online version and as DM you got free access to...

    Reg choice for new diver

Mk17/g260 is a really good reg. The environment seal makes it easy to rinse. It's very small compared to other first stages and has a good positioning of the ports. If it's the same money, or just slightly more, go with the mk17. But make sure it's the evo version!

    bolt snaps and cave line

I am not sure which material was used, but I had line that did float, it was a total mess. . Probably not nylon. So nylon is the best and only choice for cave line? Thanks for the info. I just bought 200m of cave line, after I had the cheap floating line and never thought about it again...
