Bad experience....have you got over it?

Jim, good to hear people acknowleding ****ups. I was reading some of the DIR posts (in a different thread) and get one of them to admit any racing heart beat at 60m will be like trying to get a hotel room with water in New Orleans. Mistakes make the diver. Redundancy gets you home. boogey

Just wondering how many people still use A clamps...?? I think we all have stories of o-rings blowing at 40m and passing the redundant.... BUT would it have happened if the gear was all rigged at 300 bar and we all dived with DIN?? It is accepted universally that it's the best rig..so...

    Diving and Flying

Pasley, Thanks for the concern....she turned out to be fine and kind of you to ask. We flew Sunday lunch time and she had a pain in her shoulder on Monday. She put the decision off until Tuesday and was in the pot that night and the next day and she did say her symptoms went. It is...

    Vr3

Padiscubapro, Sounds interesting...that's a good price. I'll give it some thought but I was thinking more of a cheaper second hand vr2 as back up but $1000 is very tempting. It has colour screen and you are able to supply all relevent pin numbers? boogey

    Ginnie Springs- buddy wanted 10/19-10/21/05

Thanks....I'll start asking around. I suppose it would be fairly easy to link up with a small group as I would be as a single student for these courses...my wife won't be interested in this but she'll want to be tehre to make sure I am ok. I'll check the cave forum as suggested. boogey

    Zeagle ZX Octo Freeflowing

I was given a zeagle set up to test when I was back in the cold dark lakes of Luxembourg. Fairly decent but it wasn't a match for the Beuchat VX 10 Iceberg that I was using at the time. I laso had s Scuba pro mk 25 s600 rigged for cold water...that free flowed a fair bit too but performed second...

Saved my DM at 80ft. in Palau

Interesting to read..... We went to Palua 2 years on the trot, back in 91 and 92. Each time we were there for 3 weeks I dived (my wife is a very nervous diver so didn't do too much). What a place...it's the best warm water diving in the world. I was only BSAC and PADI OW when we first...

    J valves - question

Joe...thanks for the info. When you said you can't believe you're saying they're being used safely. does that mean that you view them as odd/unsafe. Never used/seen them myself but they do sound odd/unsafe. Do you know why they were dreampt up in the first place? Was it a case...

    Diving and Flying

GO GO...run from the plane...as soon as Cayman immigration let you and get wet. Cayman diving is OK. On the return, you can dive 12 hours before a flight, 18 hours if its two dives and don't think about deco and flying for at least 24. Check your dive comp for your saturation percentage or...

    J valves - question

I remember reading about something called a J valve....if I remember correctly, it released an extra supply of gas, from a reserve, when the tank was nearing empty. I also read that if the switch hadn't been switched back, on filling, the diver thought he would have a full tank but only the...
