    Canon S90 Underwater Housing recommendation/Purchase

Yes. However, the Fisheye FIX is not reasonably priced.

What's the most wonderful thing you've seen on a surface interval?

I'm still enthralled with seeing a humpback break the surface about 10-15 feet off the port side of the boat one day in Turks and Caicos. I even was lucky enough to get a picture of it.

After class is complete, how do you get your card?

Every store is different. Some use paper "PIC"s while other do it online. A PIC is simply a form for submitting certifications. Some shops have the card sent to any of three locations: The shop, the instructor or your home. My shop has you come in after your last certification dive. At...

New to diving, confused about Certification Agencies, please help :)

The individual instructor's skill at teaching diving to you is, in my opinion, the most important issue. Yes, there are differences between agencies and those differences are noteworthy. The impact the instructor has far outweighs the agency differences.

    DiveCon?

I learned long time ago that the best way to learn something is to try and teach it. I became a divemaster to be a better diver. By helping out in classes, I get free, regular, refresher classes for myself.

What to add to basic Rec rig?-Thanks.

If you remain in recreational dive limits, then you have less risks you need to address. Good gas management, a dive plan, blah, blah, blah... Yes, all those things you listed are extremely important and I'm glad you noted them. And yes, in the world of recreational diving, it is not...

    Little help please

An alternative is to find a local dive shop and do your book work/pool work here and now. Then do your open water checkout dives somewhere nice. That way you are not wasting your vacation time sitting in classrooms.

I am now a cert diver.

Congrats on your new certification. May your diving from this point on not be so difficult.

So, what is the current 30 30 30?

    Fisheye FIX for the S90

Yes, I use the Big Blue focus light. It's a carry over from my Olympus 770SW system. It is more than adequate and I don't see a reason to replace it yet.

    Scuba gear shopping

Of your four items: 1) Neoprene Jacket (Upper part) If you need it regularly, then consider this. I would get some of the other things first. 2) BC This is a good choice. Having your own BC means having something that fits every dive. 3) Regulator + Octopus + manometer +...

    30 30 30

Well, that would be just about any of them, as I haven't tried a ForceFin I didn't like. I'm thinking my next fin will be the Sapphire Blue Excellerating Force Fin with bat wings done in diamond clear (if they exist yet.)

    30 30 30

Extra and Excellerating at the same time?

    30 30 30

Is the 30 30 30 promo over? I never saw the Extra Force Fins. :(

    newbs and split fins

I'm not sure I can recommend any particular fin type to a complete newbie. Different types of diving are best supported by a different fin. Speed and power are not things a newbie needs, nor should have. Imagine giving a real race car to a new driver to use on the streets. Once the new diver...

Dry suits - old dogs and new tricks

Congrats on your new skill (and warmth). I own a half mil, a three mil shorty and (for pool work) a two/three mil with knee pads. If the water is colder than that, I use my dry suit. I don't waste my time struggling into and out of anything more difficult than the above thicknesses, and I...

    Fisheye FIX for the S90

When I talked to Reef, they said that the two listings are for the same item.

    New to UW Photo...got a question...(Canon fan)

Let me back up what everyone has said and take a moment to put another plug for Underwater Photography Guide as it is rich with information. I go back to it often.

    EFR cert vs. AHA cert?

EFR is taught in two halves, Primary and Secondary Care. I don't see "Super CPR" on the AHA website. (I teach EFR and am a divemaster working on becoming a PADI instructor.) From your description, Super CPR is most (but not all) of EFR's Primary Care. Primary Care includes Shock and Serious...

    question about reg set ups.

I carry my regs on board. The reg bag holds a first stage, my main second stage and an octo second stage (plus the same for my wife) along with a couple screws to plug up the LP hole if I don't use the octo and a wrench. Additionally, the case contains a pair of Air2 to Standard LPI converters...
