    BP/W question

I recommending decontaminating your wing atleast once a year or as needed. Fill with fresh water + steramine. Otherwise everyone's advice is spot on.

    Yoke valve damage

Yeah, that flat inner lip is designed. When you turn on the tank. If you are looking from the opposite direction. The air flows out and the pressure will start to slightly form the O-ring to seal any leaks between the valve and 1st stage. So usually, once it's pressurized it wont leak. Unless...

    XDeep Classic or Tec?

If the rubber sliding O-Ring is standard, cave adventurers/XDeep should make it right contact them. If you are using aluminum 80s, you need sliding D-Ring. If you don't want to, you need two sets of D-Rings on each side. You basically clip it off to one and move it to the other as your tank...

Mares Prestige 15X vs Hog D3 DIN Env w-Zenith Regulator

My gf dived the 15x + prestige combo for 2x years. No issues. Socal 50F degree salt water. I got her a deep6 excursion set during blackfriday for about 200 (1x) First and (1x) Second. She said it breathes way better, but she never had any issues with the mares. The hog has a 5th LP Port. It'll...

Next step for longer bottom times on deep dives?

If your diving is being limited by NDL, you can try to get enrich air that is optimized for your dive vs the standard nitrox. But the difference will be minimal, you need to move up if you want to hit 45+ min bottom time at 100-130ft. You can do this without trimix if you don't have major...

Steel Tank Condemned: Cracks in Threads?

I'm not disputing the fact that there is lack of training, money or various other issues. Tanks that fail inspection due to deserving it -- GREAT. I have major issues paying someone to fail a tank that should not be failed be it lack of ability, mistake, or what have you. If they don't have the...

Steel Tank Condemned: Cracks in Threads?

The shop employee that is doing the inspection should of been given credentials by psi or some organization. They should be able to ask for a second opinion from them when there is an issue that is not clear and straighten it out fairly quickly

Any reason not to get a AL30, compared with a AL19?

I would go bigger. I see your in Cali and understand if your shore diving why you may prefer 30 over 40. But if you mainly boat 40 all the way. And the 40 can become a deco bottle in the future

    Which Compass?

@Wathdoc Is the brightest set to? Is it default? If you set to highest, I don't have an issue to see it if its to bright out. On default and low, it isn't bright enough to show in the sun.

    BCD carrying handle

My problem is only to attach the bpw to a tank via cam bands. It's heavy and wants to slide down the tank... and there is nothing for me to hold it in place. So at the moment I have to undo the sta from the bpw and install it. Then install the bpw... I'm lazy and have differing circumference...

    Shore dives setup

My gf and I dive quite a bit. Southern California, mostly shore diving. We usually have a long and steep hike to the dive site from the car. Waters is a bit rough usually. When diving multiple tanks with a long hike we usually have a foldable cart. Tanks, fins, and a box for regs and box of...

Need some help with a shark ID...

I heard there were spottings of a 7gill recently at crescent. But they don't look anything like a silky shark. They have a prehistoric face, spotted, they do get big and have a long ass tail. I know toupe sharks are found down in SD, they have a similar look to a silky shark. People say they...
