Farnsworth Bank: Purple Hydrocoral and Much More

The good thing with being on San Clemente is that Farnsworth is so close so you can just hop over there if conditions look good. If we dont make it I fear for my very life :) heh heh Best reef dive I have ever done with no exceptions (when the conditions are good) 12385405

If not, I may be forced to shoot myself.

    Angelita Cenote update.

It is south of Tulum. Definitely good to take a guide as (at least when i did it last), one had to get the key from a house in Tulum, and guides can help you in/out of the water (the exit is quite steep) It's not a cavern, but a huge "sinkhole" 200 feet deep, with a pile of "detritus/trees"...

A new video showing Reverse Kick

Awesome, my apologies. I wasn't aware these were GUE-approved training materials. That's great.

A new video showing Reverse Kick

...or you could just get one of the UTD educational DVDs which covers all the propulsion techniques (and more) in detail with slow-motion, cutouts and in far less time.

Wreck HMS Hermes in Sri Lanka

There is a nice article in the latest GUE/Quest magazine by Dave Ross about diving this wreck (and also detailing the long road to get there)

    Angelita Cenote update.

Pet cemetary is an awesome cavern dive, but I think the best diving there is definitely full cave as most of the lines are jumps/restrictions. It would definitely be worth getting full cave just for that one area of cave though :)

    Angelita Cenote update.

Gear off in the water One person stays down others climb out. Its tricky but not too bad. Slippery in a few places with some rocks then there is a pulley to haul the gear up. Easy for singles, a 2-person job for doubles, a 4-person job for really big rebreathers :) It's an awesome dive...

Santi 400g or DUI 450 Flex?

I need about 16 pounds to sink DUI 400s, and like you I need barely any weight with a (beaten up) 300G fleece. I haven't really tried to take anything off that 16 to see if it's way too much but I think it's about right. I think the DUI 400s are approx the same buoyancy as Santis. (I need...

Pros and Cons of Rigid D-Ring on Hip?

It's quite possible in thick drygloves, just takes practice. I use smaller boltsnaps than 1" though, I think the eye is 3/4" with the slightly flat "bottom" I find the 1" thick/circular ones are harder to manipulate.

Santi 400g or DUI 450 Flex?

Sounds awesome Guy ! Things are decent here but 2010 was the year of cruddy conditions for us. Maybe 2011 will be better.

Santi 400g or DUI 450 Flex?

Yeah. The "other kinds of zip seals" just dont seem as good yet as the DUI sadly. I have seen the Sitech wrists and I prefer the DUI, but i haven't yet seen the sitech neck system although i would like to check it out.

Santi 400g or DUI 450 Flex?

2010 for the new one, 2006 for the old one. One of the ankle things fell off the turbo boots already, DUI sent size 11 boots DESPITE having a trace outline of my feet and all measurements, then sent back the correct size (9) but sent non-reinforced boots when I paid for re-inforced ones. I...

    ACE wreck video dana point

iPhone and Playstation used to be pretty picky about their codecs. Maybe they are better now. It took me quite some research to find what worked. I never tried it from vimeo though, just the raw files I made myself

Santi 400g or DUI 450 Flex?

My TLS350 was bone dry for about 4 years, with 600 or so dives, until it started to "get thin" and spring a leak as soon as you looked at it. The new one is bone dry too. I do know a lot of people that are leaky in them though
