I did similar but w/out the glue (just folded them on to a ZIP seal the same way you'd attach them to a regular latex)
The issues I found were leaks (maybe my latex was thinner than before and i needed a thicker ring ? and the rings came too far down my hands)
Right now I use the Diving...
The "public" documents (which I would caution anyone against applying too literally as there are multiple updated versions) usually consider up to 30 min BT, which for the deeper dives most definitely isn't just 30 mins deco :)
And you are welcome to that :) I use a form of ratio deco for every dive i do from recreational to cave to 250ft+ ocean dives with far more than 30 mins deco.
There are obviously cases where the basic rules of thumb break down, as we already talked about, the internet examples quoted are...
Have you also considered the UTD or Diving Concepts systems ? Both worked (for me) way better than the Si-tech, and might also fit (the UTD ones are the least bulky)
Thats the only issue you can really bring up ? not too bad then :)
I'd counter there's the whole "I need to practice on dives where I don't really need it" before I go on those other kinds because when jumping in to a wreck at 340 "because I really need" the rebreather, it seems rather prudent...
If you used a "UTD" CCR (i.e. the MC or MX in whatever variety), then
- Bottom and deco gases are identical
- Deco schedule is identical (The CCR diver just follows the OC schedule)
- Bailout/RB is identical with the CCR diver having RB in their doubles, and a long-hose and a "necklace"
About...
yes, I've had that issue (Dont use those gloves anymore)
Solution is to be really (really) careful putting them on, and dip your hands in the water before jumping in to make sure they sealed correctly
Licking or a little bit of lube (erk!) should help too
One of my favorite dives in the Seattle area. I LOVE Edmonds, especially coming from SoCal where our lings are generally much more puny!
I was also lucky enough to see a GPO there once ....
Cant wait to dive it again!
Hi all,
For the past few years, i have put together a little calendar of the Mexico caves.
The 2012 edition is about to go off to the printers, and below are some preview images.
If you'd like a copy, $17 paypal'd to immerseimages@gmail.com will get a copy mailed to a US address (msg me if...
Without making a statement about this particular event (since I wasn't there), in both my classes with "The other DIR agency" it was stated very clearly that the instructor would TRY to turn on any closed valves after a scenario but it was not always possible to do so on all occasions and we...
Hey !!! I happen to have some rather nice video of a Flag Rockfish, which I have only seen deeper than about 170 locally.
of course I had no idea the damn thing was even in frame until Jamie said "Hey, what's that weird fish in your video"
I replied "You mean that clownfish ???? That *is*...
Lot of big fish deep here in SoCal...including some nice rockfish that someone told me were quite rare that somehow got in the way of one of the wrecks in a video I was making.
What we were asked to do in Cave2 was take VPM+2, and try to make a reasonable table given doublr AL80s + a stage (based on 1/3s gas planning) and for a variety of depths, plan based on our SAC rate how long of a dive we could do and how much deco.
I think our table was from 50-120 feet or so ...
