    Suunto Cobra & Nitrox

I've done this with my Cobra. The SAC will be off (but so what?) and the deco calcualtions will be off, in your favor, slightly. Go ahead and use your pony bottle, and don't worry about the computer.

    Rescue Diver's Chime in please.....

The most difficult part for me was dragging a pretend-unconscious 200 lb guy in through the surf. Go for it.

    Diving ENT in San Diego

My ENT is Cynthia Davis in Solana Beach (858-755-9343). She doesn't dive, but she does understand Eustacian tubes. She did surgery on my nose that TREMENDOUSLY improved my ability to equalize my ears, and breath in general.

    Engineering

I'm an electrical engineer, and my job does support my dive habit. My job has sent me to Hawaii and Florida on occaission, where I managed to do a bunch of dives on the weekends.

    New Wreck off Lahina

I went with Extended Horizons, which I think is a pretty good operation.

    New Wreck off Lahina

If your diving is limited, then I'd wait. The St Anthony wreck had way more critters hanging around. Lanai was the best diving I did off Maui, anyway. There are moorings over the wreck, so you could ty off a kayak to them. But it's further out then I'd want to kayak. And I'd want to have the...

    New Wreck off Lahina

I dove the Carthaginian last week. The wreck is pretty pristine, having been down only a month or so. It doesn't have a lot of sealife living in it yet. The cargo hold is wide open, and you can see the engine room pretty easily. There are a few spots of 'overhead environment', but not what I...

I'm hoping to do it next week when I'm there.

    The Lois Ann

The Lois Ann just changed captains last month. I dove off that boat many times under the previous captain, and I don't think this type of thing would have happened on his watch. This is not a good start for the new captain.

Court TV on Steve Donathan Tonight --

I agree, the show was pretty lame. The rescuers looked less qualified to penetrate than the victim. However, it would be pretty tough to make a show that actually satisfied us as being realistic and fair.

Weekly San Clemente trips out of San Diego, can anyone confirm this?

I did one of their San Clemente trips in Oct. It was $200 for a 3 dive trip. I thought it was well worth it. The boat is a pretty fast 6 pack (24 knots). The vis at San Clemente was 50' pr better. Plenty of lobster, all undersized :)

Mo2vation AUGUST 19th, '06 Boat Dive planning thread - Lois Ann

I think we'd be better off doing the Hogan as a separate trip. Maybe use the Dive Quest (a 6-pack). I'd be interested in that.

    New Wreck off Lahina

I can't tell from reading this thread: is this ship actually sunk now?

    prescrption mask or new contacts?

Before my surgery, I wore glasses for 33 years. I had a prescription dive mask that worked very well. I always made sure it was clipped to my bc in between dives on boats to make sure it didn't go overboard or get stepped on, etc. Contrary to what eyeglass salesmen tell you, you're eyes don't...

    I need 100 of you...

OK, I answered your questions. But I doubt you're going to get anything useful out of this survey. The results are not going to change the opinion of anybody who's already got their mind set on way or the other.

    San Diego Dive Shop

I recommend Lois Ann and Dive Bliss for boats in San Diego. Book directly with the boat, and avoid the middleman.

    HP 120 and diver height?

I'm 5'8", and I use an E7-120, no problems. I set the bc strap about an inch lower on the tank, than an AL 80. So I have an extra inch on each of the tank. Doesn't bother me in the slightest.

How can I make my intergrated alt air reg fit a rental BC?

It was this very reason why I stopped using my Seaquest Airsource, and went to a regular backup regulator on a necklace. Even if you bring your BC, you still have the possibility of either the BC or reg breaking in some way, and now you're trying to match up your remaining gear with rental gear...
