Wondering is anyone out there has the Oceanic Geo computer and if so how do you use the thing? I have read and re read the manual, installed the cd and downloaded the stuff to my computer and re read the manual again. It seems that without actually going for a dive I can only play with the...
After reading this thread it appears that some love it and some hate it just like every other thing in this world. I am however suprised by how opposed and vocal some people are about it. If it's not your cup of tea then dont pay for it, dont learn it and make sure your dive buddy knows not to...
Sorry I forgot to add one other thing. I see that you have to buy the data cord and PC cd are not included in the price of the computer, nor other computers i looked at. Is this the normal to sell them seperatly?
Santa gave me a pass to purchase a dive computer within reason. I can not afford to spend $800 on a computer so I was looking at the Oceanic Geo which is on sale for $299.95. What are your thoughts on this item? Is it worth the cost? I can probaly afford somewhere around $400 tops at this time...
Sorry that I can not help you out with your questions, but I can say welcome to the board. I am sure someone will come along with all the answers you are looking for. There is also a:search: feature which may be of some help.
Well here is an opinion from someone who does not work in the medical field or even have a clue what you are about to go through. Above is a quote from the OP and it seems to me like you have made up your mind a long time ago. Is this still the way you feel, well only you know the answer to...
I got premission to go buy a dive computer of my choice (but within budget reason). Now the question becomes which one? Looks like I have alot of posts to read.....
Dutch Springs and also I believe a place called Willow Grove are 2 places to dive in PA. I believe they may be a little far from you but you can camp out for the weekend at both and make the trip worth it. Welcome to the board!
I have to agree with Diver0001 which is why I asked this question in the first place. From the answers everyone has given I have come to realize that maybe I will never go on a exotic trip to dive somewhere but thats fine by me because I like my 2006 f150, 2006 jeep grand cherokee, my new home...
I would venture to say that 45 seconds under the water not being able to breath must feel like 45 minutes to a beginner. Never even really knew what freediving was let alone that there is a professional level of it. Great questions and answers, thanks.
I have used the :search: feature and did not see anything like this. I hope this is the correct place to post this question. If not please move it where it needs to be. With that said:
SCUBA is an expensive sport and I see everyone talking about that trip they took to some exotic destination...
Wow. I have never dove a river or anything with current like that and I must say it doesnt even look like fun. that second video looks like these guys are just holding on not to get dragged away. Is there any fun in this type of diving, anyone know first hand?
S-L-O-W - D-O-W-N there BigTim! You ask this question as if it hasent been answered 100 times before for you already. Please see the following post made by you in another thread from the Basic Sucba Forum:
bigtim6656: Now i can understand that. I thought most classes are done over a few days...
I understand what you are saying. I guess it is one of those things you have to try out on your own. I know a couple people with the hockey puck style wrist mount computers that I could borrow for a dive or two, the gear we have at the rescue station are console type and I guess I will just have...
