Old U S Divers aluminum tank

I set two of them out by the curb last week for the junk guy that comes around my neighborhood to pick. I hope he isn't too upset when the scrap yard turns him down because they arent cut in half. I don't feel bad though. I left some box fans out for him a while back and he busted the plastic...

    Gators?

I've been tubing and diving and seen them plenty of times hanging out on the banks or near the banks and they have never slipped into the water and came after me like in the movies. I'm actually more concerned about being harassed by otters. They are territorial and will chase people away from...

Yeah, my neighbors would just love that. Not.

    Gators?

Brackish water may be gators. I think that salt water would more likely be crocodiles but it would'nt surprise me if an occasional gator ventured into sakt water. I dive in fresh water rivers here in Florida. I don't dive in rivers at night and I try to avoid the banks during the day unless I'm...

Old U S Divers aluminum tank

If it has a nice decal it can be used as a display piece but thats it. Not even worth scrapping in my area because they want them cut in half. More work than it's worth.

Carrying things while snorkelling - how do you do it?

I use a plastic milk crate with some swim noodles tie wrapped to it for a dive flag float when I'm metal detecting or fossil hunting. Milk crates are everywhere and swim noodles aren't hard to find either. Plastic bottles can work in a pinch. It's ugly and not very hydrodynamic but you can carry...

Dive light from E-Bay -- Great buy!!!

99% is not great feedback on ebay. Anything below 99.7% and I start checking out the feedback comments before I decide to buy. The MBG us excellent but can be a hassle so I try to avoid problems.

    Assisting others with Beach Entry/Exit

Thanks. Now I have an excuse for why I'm 52 years old and still ride a skateboard. Skate or die!

Dive Master Training or Dimethyltryptamine. In this case I'm pretty sure it's dive master training though.

    Dive Cylinder Explodes - Sydney

I'm surprised anyone wiuld still fill one of those 6051 tanks. A lot of the dive shops in my area of Florida refuse to fill anything more than 15 years old regardless of make or alloy. I think Florida had a higher percentage of explosions than most other areas and people are extra cautious...

How many kinds of quick-disconnects ?

I don't know if Zeagle has their own type of fitting for their integrated octo/inflators. I don't have one, yet. But it should be easy to find a pic on the web of one. I found one. It does look different than the others. Actually it kind of looks like the one in the OP's middle picture. Damn...

How many kinds of quick-disconnects ?

This is the SeaQuest AirSource integrated octo/inflator fitting. It also looks similar to an air tool fitting except it has a narrow ridge instead if a wide lump. You can get adaptors that will convert a regular inflator fitting to one or the other of the integrated octo/inflator fittings. But...

How many kinds of quick-disconnects ?

This is the ScubaPro AIR2 integrated octo/inflator fitting. It hasn't changed since they started making the AIR2. You can easily see the similarity between it and a standard air tool fitting. If you were to cut the straight part off that is after the lump it would fit into an air tool chuck.

How many kinds of quick-disconnects ?

As far as I know there are 3 common disconnect fittings for the inflator and integrated octo/inflator hoses. There are others but these are the ones you are most likely to run into. The standard one like on the left is for inflators without an integrated octo. There are two other common types...

    Nemrod Snark Ii Silver

This is the latest addition to my hoard. It's like new. The picture doesn't do it justice. All the rubber including the hose and diaphragm is soft and shiney with no cracks, the chrome is beautiful and the label is perfect. It even came with the original clear plastic dust cap and cork float. I...

    PADI "Looking Good" Certification

The fact she was able to assemble that underwater with her mask off is pretty impressive. I can't find my own nose with my mask off. Some of these girls display some very impressive bouyancy skills too. I like the colors of the equipment. It's a Japanese brand. I looked it up once but I can't...

    PADI-Sipping Air Free Flow?

Could the hose be kinked shut between breaths? Or would the risk of hose rupture be too great. What about removing the first stage from the tank and breathing straight off the valve? I have breathed off valves before that way so I know it can be done. But I have not tried it any deeper than an...
