I think the minimum length of indexed words had something to do with your lack of results (try searching for the infamous HUB). Must be horrible suffering through those Australian winters.
Agreed. But it'd be much easier to do so if they were rated to 3440 psi to start with. I also have a pair of LP 85s (fabers--for my wife but I may double them up instead) that would love a 3600 fill!
I thought the whole concept of being 'perfectly' weighted involved requiring little to no air in the wing (big steel doubles needing more air) when at your final deco/safety stop. I wouldn't want to have to plan my dive around having something to hold on to during the last few minutes.

If you are referring to a 10% overfill above the + rated fill (10%) then you're right, it'll hold somewhere around 93 cubic feet of air. I find it a bit misleading that the quoted volume of air is only achieved with the 'overfill' and wonder what benefit this archaic system has. PST has taken...
There are definitely more than two manufacturers...Faber, Pressed Steel, Worthington (made over here in Ontario) are prominent, and I've seen others including a LP 'Norris' tank. Regarding DOT versus TC, I prefer the TC ratings because plus stamps are not required (typically 184 bar for LP...
The customs agents certainly weren't giving the wacko any grief...quoted from some poor soul with a 20 year old drug conviction who was temporarily detained at the same time:
Mr. Young said the U.S. customs agents appeared to be joking around.
"I watched the customs guys fling the swords...
I selected prescription replacements for my X-vision mask. For a total of C$100 including mask it was a good deal, and my LDS had a good selection of diopers. If you can find a mask that fits properly and has 'drop in' lenses available, that'd be my first choice.

I've stayed at the Tobermory Princess Hotel which is conveniently located beside the LCBO. I can't recall what we paid but I think it was a bit higher than some of the other hotels. Check out http://www.tobermory.org/motel.html for a listing of most of the hotels/B&Bs/cabins.

There was a thread recently regarding this same topic:

It also discusses some of the pitfall$ of ordering from the U.S. via UPS.
Sean
I've frequently ordered from the U.S. but have yet to see any 'duty' charges. From Ontario you're certainly going to be hit for 15%, but unless you're using UPS your brokerage fees shouldn't be significant. I have ordered from Scubatoys before and the cost of shipping FedEx priority ($30 US)...
I never considered Gulliver's, but it's certainly closer. Platforms are a bonus, but can I expect to see anything? Anyway thanks for the suggestion, at least I have a few options now.

If anyone manages to get some diving in tonight at Humber could you provide the conditions later? I'm thinking of driving out there tomorrow with a buddy (although I have no idea where to go/etc) so I can get some more experience with my drysuit. We're planning on 'diving' there around 1PM...
It never hurts to make reservations (NTD would be my choice), especially if there are particular wrecks you'd like to dive. If you don't have any preferences you probably could get away with just 'walk-on' charters. I'd also avoid the July 1st weekend (Canada Day). The way our government is...
The 300 bar adapter will work with both 300 and 200 bar valves (although it will protrude slightly in the 200). The 200 will not seat in a 300 bar valve, however.

While we brought our own gear, their rental gear appeared new (lack of fading/etc as was noted by Sharky). They had Faber LP 95 tanks available (din/yoke) and were generally filled to 2400 psi so the volume was comparable to the overfilled aluminum 80s. We found their package to be a good...
Certainly, but the 50% nitrous oxide might affect your concentration -slightly-. I suppose that if you were going to die anyway this would be the way to do it!
