Boots to Fit Slightly Large Fin (wetsuit)

I have a pair of Seac 5mm boots and really like them. They have a zipper keeper to prevent the zipper from unzipping and a reinforcement piece at the bottom of the zipper to prevent tears and stop the zipper from splitting and a rubber piece on the heel to keep your fin strap from coming off...

    Punta Cana Recommendations April 2026

The diving in the Punta Cana area is not good. The best diving and it's very good is out of Bayahibe on the south Caribbean Sea side of the Dominican. There is reef diving, wall diving, wreck diving and even a cave dive. I always use & highly recommend Scuba Fun. I have been diving...

    Planning a trip 10/4-12

I always wear a 3/2 mil full wetsuit or 2 mil shorty. No matter how warm the water is, you will lose your core body temperature from multiple days of diving. I never use any type of sun screen while diving, it's not good for the marine environment or the silicone on your mask.

    Playa del Carmen + Cozumel?

I highly recommend Nicolas from Cenote Xperience, great guys that have a small local dive shop in Playa Del Carmen. I have been diving with Nico since 2011. They dive the cenotes and do ocean dives out of Playa and over to Cozumel. The cenotes have different levels of difficulty, so just be...

Tech Fins vs Recreational (Mares Quattro, etc.)

If they're not broken, don't fix them. I have been diving my Mares Quattro's for about 26 years and they are still going strong, I got a pair of the Mares bungee straps for them about 3 years ago and no problems.

    September Caribbean Dive Trip Recs?

Curacao for sure! Went to Bonaire in 2006 and have never returned, the most boring & repetitive diving I have done. Also Curacao is a lot nicer and has way more things to do top side.

    Second hand divecom

I have been diving a Sunnto Cobra for over 26 years and it has never failed. Suunto bashing is a favorite pass time around here especially from people that have never owned one. My local dive shop is a Mares dealer, so I dive with others that have a Mares computer. Either is a good choice I...

    Second hand divecom

I actually own a Suunto Cobra 1. I have been diving it for over 26 years and it has never failed, locked me out or had a defective depth sensor.

Tips for finding a good fitting mask

Go to your local dive shop, don't ever buy a mask on line. Don't worry about brand, just go and try on as many masks as you can and get the one that fits you the best. I needed a new mask this year, and the cheapest one in the shop was the one that fit me the best.

    Suunto ZOOP 2 gauge console

Good purchase. I had a Suunto Cobra 1 computer for over 25 years and it never failed me. I had to get a large colour screen computer so I could see it, so I gave the Suunto to my travel agent and she is still using it without fail.

Dive Rite Travel Wing vs Hog 23lb

I had a Dive Rite BP and Rec wing for quite a while before I got my Sub Gravity BP/W. Dive Rite makes good quality equipment and have been around for a long time. I don't have any experience with HOG though.

Dive Rite Travel Wing vs Hog 23lb

Personally, I wouldn't choose either. The Dive Rite wing requires a single tank adapter. The HOG wing has an integrated soft side single tank holder but the bungee cords on the wing are an entanglement hazard. I would look at the OMS Mono wing, it comes with a 27 or 32 lift, it has built in...
