    Favorite Practicle Jokes

Years ago, I worked for my step-dad in a wharehouse division of a small company. He would often have to answer the telephone, which was black. So, one day I'm doing some shipping & receiving duties and had to refill a stamp with black ink. The light goes on above my head. I coated the...

    Sea Lice aggravate tinea versicolor?

Hi Mike, I think you mean sea "lice", not wasps. A sea wasp is a potentially deadly critter, whereas the juvies you describe are often described as sea lice. I have experienced similar circumstances to yours. I always wear a steamer now and have avoided any further aggravation. Benedryl...

    My Coz Trip, April 2006

Hey Leadweight, I dove with Dive with Martin April 16th - 27th. I wonder if we met and didn't know it? Do you remember anyone named Jay? If so, that's me. My buddy Brian was there too.

    Me, on Tormentos!

Hi Frank! Cool pic. Wish I would have known you were there the same time I was, we coulda had a deco-beer or something. Tormentos was neat, eh? We got 24 dives in, only two of them being night dives, however. Who did you dive with? We used Dive with Martin and they were awesome. The...

    Customer Service Extraordinaire

Ok, here's one about my first trip to the Keys. I set up reservations three weeks in advance, excited about my first experience in south Florida, which was to be a full week. Morning #1, I head to the dive shop and get signed in to dive. The gal behind the counter seemed like it was her first...

Pit bull coming at me, owner screaming "Vicious NO"

Hi Andy, I personally knew a guy here who now resides in another state who bred them speciffically for fighting. It is illegal here, but he had no issue telling me what kind of steroids he would give them for bad wounds they recieved in battle and how to treat them, etc. I agree with you on...

    Dive Boat Names

Not really dive related, although I do dive off of her, I named my boat "Bird's Nest". It not only applies to the tangle of line an inattentive fisherman might experience, my nickname since I was a kid has been Jaybird, sometimes shortened to just 'Bird. So, it works both ways.

    Snorkle use

Hi kjundvr, I dove the Monterey(Breakwater) a couple times when the surf was low and little current. I did not even bring a snorkel. Typically, my snorkel stays in my bag on the boat or shore, unless I am specifically going snorkelling. Personally, I have very little use for it. Like you...

    Prop selection

Hi Justin, In my experience, a 3-blade would probably be the best option for a 35hp. The dealer you mention likely gets a better deal on the 4-blade models. I can't remember doing business anywhere that DIDN'T carry 3-blade props also. Here's a link where you should be able to get your...

Boys & Girls and the 'Hood

Today, just before falling asleep, I was thinking back on my ongoing diving education. Not just academic, but real life things I had learned that was perhaps never talked about much in OW class. Thus, I wanted to write this in hopes of helping some new divers with questions about...
