For me it was flooding the battery one of my Ikelite strobes. I believe it cost me about $230 / €200. Insurance refused to replace anything unfortunately.
I nearly flooded my camera once but discovered there was water in the housing just in time.
It can be a bit of a fuss to get rid of the remaining glue but I'm very happy that the she-p exists. When I have planned multiple dives on one day I like it that I can keep my drysuit onbetween dives.
Besides that, the alternatives don't seem that much more appealing to me :).
Eigenlijk bijna elke zaterdag.
I also prefer timing. In the Netherlands vis is usually no more than 5 meter (most of the time even less) so navigation is an important part of your training.
Most divers tend to swim faster on the way back so that's something I take into account. Also certain reference points (rocks, logs...
The store where I got my Elite Plus LF always uses the "made to measure" option. Took us well over 2 hours to measure everything, including trying a standard size suit (+ undergarments) to decide which adaptations where necessary.
My previous suit was a standard size Waterproof Draco, the...
The Elite Plus should indeed be more durable.
Which suit you choose depends on the diving you intend to do with it. Me and my partner bought the Elite Plus as our goal is cave diving. For "normal" recreational diving I think the Emotion will be fine.
I use a Santi (E-lite plus) with a BZ400. Both are custom made which means a certain number of ajustments are done for free. Love the movement you have in this suit and for a drysuit I think they do look nice.
I have been using the BZ400 in water temperatures as cold as 40F. Only downside was...
I am about 160 tall and weigh 57kg. I have been usong a normal sized plate now for a couple of months and for me this works fine.
We bought a lightweight (carbon) version for travelling but with my current setup at home a stainless steel would have been a better option. Unfortunately it's a bit...
Lol...
We're going to do fundies this august and for that we had to replace all our old gear. We where still using a normal BCD, single 10L tank and a compressed neoprene drysuit.
The instructor recommended Halcyon and Santi. We could get a nice deal for the Halcyon wing, two for the price of...
Cold water at home, warm water when we're on holiday. We like to do wreck diving every now and then.
When on holiday I also enjoy taking my camera with me :).
Next year we intend to start cave and/or technical diving (first thought we have to pass our GUE fundies course...).
Hard to compare the weight we needed because I got the new drysuit and BZ400 at the same time. Before that I used a compressed neoprene drysuit with 200g underneath. At the shop they said we needed about 13lbs but that was not nearly enough (they forgot the carbon backplate...). We ended up...
I have done about 10+ dives now with a BZ400 and I notice it is starting to become a bit less floaty.
With my suit (Santi E-Lite+) canister light, Jetfins, D12 tanks and a Carbon backplate (!) I need to add another 17 lbs in fresh water. Think I could remove some but for now this works fine also...
We where there in 2014 (land based).
We stayed there during off season so it was us and only a few other divers. Still the best diving we have ever done though... would go back in an instance if we could spare the money . Haven't seen that many fish and such nice reefs anywhere else.
