    Aldora Divers

Thanks. I appreciate all the responses. I guess my personal catch is I am not looking to cook or grocery shop on vacation so lovely sounding places like the Villas are not ideal for me. That's kind of a bummer because the resort itself is what I am looking for.

    Aldora Divers

I would really like to learn more about how people handle their meals when staying at the Villas.

    Looking for some Advice!

You already have great advice on boots. I recommend a compass for underwater navigation. Take a reading from the site marker buoy to your truck/entry point then at the end of the dive you return to the buoy then navigate right to the entry underwater. Lots of people do surface swims but...

Finding a (Best) Dive Op in Cozumel

I am taking a solo trip with out my wife/dive partner. I consider myself an experienced diver and rather not get insta buddied with a new/bad/poor air consumption diver. I think I want to dive with an op that dives as a group to avoid this. I was thinking of diving with Aldora since I hear...

    Local News

They implemented this during the stony coral disease and never stopped. It was a feel good measure at best. Don't look for science or rationale around it.

    Trip Report Bonaire with photos

My wife wears those Mares boots and likes them. Those are really beefy heavy boots. Too beefy for my tastes. I use these Tusa shoes that have a really thick sole. These are my defaults and I use the Quattros as well with no extenders...

Question Oldest dive shops / people who've been diving for decades

Thanks for correcting typos. Autocorrect burned me again. I never said anything about Ellen just that you should use scientists rather than random people. Surely you should appreciate that. Recall the OP was looking for long time divers so I redirected towards scientists. Now lets stop...

Question Oldest dive shops / people who've been diving for decades

Please use science and not antidotal evidence based on observations of non-scientist divers. You should interview STINPA.

Trip Report One week each: Cozumel Hotel/Dive Paradise, and Iberostar/Dressel Divers

I always find it fascinating that people think the "short" 30 min boat ride (each way) to the reefs is fine but a shorter taxi from resort to town for a meal is too far. You are not trapped on the resort just because its not walking distance. Dont compromise on your vacation. Stay at a...

    Solo diving on Bonaire

That's wild. They don't trust people to dive their certification level? It explains why they have dont have solo/self reliant training listed on their site. I was going to get trained on my next trip. Can anyone recommend a solo/self reliant instructor on the island?

    Jr Divers and down current

First, I cant imagine there being any down currents on the West side as the first step in down currents is currents and there are usually minimal currents on the West side. That being said, lots of people are diving the East coast. I was in a down current diving on the East side (boat dive...

Found him ~3 miles out after an hour of searching

I have a signaling mirror I have attached to my BCD from DAN I think. In the middle it has a little optical you look through at the target of the flash. Then you wiggle it. Don't forget a whistle. I have one attached to my inflator. It is my first to use signal after my BCD and I've used...

    Must Do Dives in Cozumel

They have been mentioned but anything Colombia and Palancar are swim throughs and are pretty unique. You need to do those. I could do those collective sites all day all week and I won't travel to Cozumel when those sites are closed. Santa Rosa Wall is also a wonderful dive and of Jacques...

    Bonaire eagle rays

Just back from Bonaire. We saw an incredible number of eagle rays with with East Coast and also on the West side at multiple sites. I have some crazy videos like an eagle ray passing a school of fish, doing a turtle fly by, feeding in the sand and circling around in a thermocline. I'll have...

    Ultimate Dive Truck

The roads on Bonaire are not built for F150 sized vehicles. I just got back and the people driving Fords are painfully obvious on the roads. As others have said, you don't need a phone with you. You can carry money and a credit card in a little dry box. The key fob goes in a key fob...

    Iberostar Car Rental

FWIW... A trip to town is $15 if you pay in peso equivalent. It doesnt seem like you are saving any money aside from any east side adventures.
