There really aren't any details to report. The guy freaked out going into a smaller passage called Rocky Horror. It's not that small and there is no need to take off any equipment. I believe that he took his tank off in a panic. Because he panicked and started flailing all over the place and...
We had a guy who completely lost it and went into a full panic. Took his tank off, couldn't get it back on. Silted everything out and took off on us. It was not a good day but made us grateful for good training. Fortunately the diver in panic got things together and didn't get lost or die.
Wow! OW divers stay out of caves. Even if you think you can go in them, stay out. Read this OW divers, stay out of the caves until you're trained! There is nothing in them that you need to see until you receive training
I want to come down Dec 4th to the 7th for my birthday but I don't have a buddy that can come with me during that time nor am I familiar with the dive ops down there. It's not often that I dive in the ocean as I prefer caves. :-) I want an OP that is friendly to experienced divers and will pair...
Last time I went to Mexico I got cold in a 7mm wetsuit and hood. I"m going again in January and I will be diving dry. I agree with the backup buoyancy and I won't go cave diving in a wetsuit again. I had my dump valve stick open a few weeks ago and it would have been a long crawl out of the...
You aren't the only one who gets horribly sea sick. I solved my sea sickness issues though, by going cave diving! :-) I'll occasionally go on a boat dive just to change things up but the sea conditions have to be near flat in order for me to get out there. Any waves higher than 2-3 feet will...
Just FYI you need 100 post certification dives to count towards Abe Davis. The 15 training dives don't count. :-) Congrats on your cert but 100 dives does not make one a cave diver. It's the lessons you learn along the way and the experiences you gain. Trust me I have learned many lessons...
You will never acquire all your gear. I can't begin to count how many times I told myself that I couldn't possibly need more gear. The more diving you do the more you will need. :-) It's a never ending cycle. Trust me I've spent thousands already and probably will spend thousands more, lol!
That does suck. Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully things are better now. On the bright side, when you finally are able to come down here, most of the caves should be open. :-) Take care and safe travels.
