Actually the algorithm is pretty much identical to that of my back up computer the Nitek Duo. I get out of the water at the same time but the 20/80 gives me deeper stops and the Duo gives me longer shallow stops.
Thanks. I never had any issues before. This was my longest dive to date. Of course I've never been on a dive where you burn off a good amount of deco and then accumulate it all back again by the end of the dive. If I could figure out how to post the profile info from my Petrel on here I would. I...
I have a possible solution to your A-framing issue. I had that issue as well and didn't realize how bad it was until I saw a video someone shot of me from above. If the bungees around your valves aren't long enough they will pull the valves in towards your body causing the rear of the tanks to...
That is the problem with this country. Too many people don't want to take responsibility for their own actions. It's easier to blame someone else or some outside force than to own up to their own stupidity. Of course it doesn't help matters any when you have radio advertisements such as 411...
Drysuit and 32%. It was Hole In The Wall cave. We went to the champagne room. It's a very pretty part of the cave with crackling clear water and amazing formations but there are a lot of ups and downs.

You are right it could...
I had an interesting occurrence the other day on a dive that puzzled me. It was a very long cave dive that had a pretty drastic saw tooth profile. The dive started out averaging about 60 ft of depth and then we dropped to around 100 ft. We then went up to about 50 ft, dropped to around 70ft and...
I'm voting for karma. All of Foxfish's talk about shark culling may just turn around and bite him in the behind the next time he gets in the water. :-) They may cull him!
Any you are going to be the next Darwin Award recipient. I just hope none of my friends have to die trying to get your cold, stiff corpse out or that a cave gets shut down.
Definitely do the class with Edd. You want someone who dives sidemount regularly to be your instructor not someone who doesn't dive the configuration but just got certified by their agency so that they could teach it.
I would also recommend Edd. His class consists of more than here's a couple of tanks put them on and lets go dive. The instructor also has to know how to adjust the tanks and bungees appropriately so they aren't hanging down in front of you like stage bottles or floating up behind you. Both...
That is crazy. Harassing and habituating the sharks to associate humans with food is not good. Someone is going to get bit eventually. It's an accident waiting to happen in my opinion.
I cringed when I watched those videos! Scary stuff especially the second one. No redundant equipment, crappy lights, and no guideline and obviously no training. People like that are why caves get closed.
Hi Alfie. I can only speak from personal experience but this happens to me if I don't take some kind of anti-motion sickness medication before I go diving. Rough seas have nothing to do with it. I have to use it even when diving caves and springs. I believe it has something to do with my ears...
LoL Eric! That wasn't bad cave diving, that was all in the name of exploration!!! :-) In fact Mike is going to come down to the High Springs area this weekend and we are going to check out the caves down here. I'm all for giving Ebro Blue another go. That cave will not defeat me. I was able to...
