As others have said, bigger tanks, etc will help. But the largest factor is your personal air consumption rate. Start being serious about cardiovascular training and your oxygen consumption will improve.
I'm no saying you aren't in shape. Just no one else has really brought physical condition...
Probably the best example on why people go beyond their training, normalization of deviance:

Muncie isn't a good dive spot. I've been there more than once and ended up at Pizza King for beer and pizza. Def grab Pizza King while in Muncie if you go...

And I'm in Zider's group. Don't hold that against me ;)
I've been really happy with the DUI XM450. It's not as bulky as a SubX but just as warm. Ive done 45-60 minutes in 39F water and came out only slightly chilly.
My SubX has turned to my suit for shoveling the snow. Between the weight it takes to sink it and the restriction for valve drills its...
Let me clarify a little. I don't put argon in my dry suit inflation system. It's tough to get in Indianapolis, so we all tend to use air or nitrox in our bottles. Honestly, unless you have enough argon to flush your drysuit a few times I'm not sure it makes that much difference. I use an 8 ft3...

I use the Dive Rite one listed here for $44. Add a hose and you're ready to go. It's so cheap you just trash it when it craps out and buy another one!! I'm assuming parts kits and a rebuild would cost more than the reg.
You need an ignition source. You would only have two of the three triangle of fire sources. So no.
But I've farted in the shower a few times and nearly killed myself. I'd guess a chamber would make this 10x worse....
I've not found gas to effect my buoyancy, but it sure has a profound effect on the buddy I ask to help unzip my dry suit :)
Never unzip the suit of a buddy who's blown up the the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man and has a huge grin on his face....
I'll be out for those weekends (my son's birthday is the 23rd and I don't know when we'll celebrate his big day). If it shifts to a bit later I'd still be game.
It's too expensive to move. You can get every bit the quality BP/wing new for your asking price. Not trying up bust your bubble, just speaking the truth.
The simple questions you ask show you aren't ready to think through the set up and execution of a computer using GF as it's algorithm. If you wanted a computer to match profiles of a Gekko because that's what your buddies dive, dive a Gekko.
No one is piling on you. It's a systemic problem in...
Before you quote stats please take a stats class. You obviously have no grasp of stats. You only give death rates. No thought about deaths per 'X' number of dives/fire fights. In order to have meaningful stats you have to normalize your data.
Ah but Jim, all the other offerings dummy proof with things like safety stops. I agree that it's the perfect computer for someone looking to expand and has a training plan laid out, but this is the second palm to forehead question on the Petrel (the other was about trying to set GF to match his...
These recent questions on the Petrel have me wondering why purely recreational divers are buying them. It's way more computer than is needed for that level. If you are looking for the OLED display and the conservatism then why not buy the Atomic Cobalt?
Or......
Use your training to bring your buddy to the surface....
It's like the original request - technology for technologies sake. It solves no issues.
Fire fighters also are in zero visibility environment under significant stress. It is also managed by OSHA, so obviously they are trying to dummy proof it. Warnings I can see in this situation.
Their is no harm in an alarm as you state. There is also no benefit. It is not needed in...
