Funny. I didn't post about Hog until a fan boy came on offering it as a solution. And I didn't bad mouth Hog. I noted what I've noted on countless posts. Hog doesn't have the fit and finish i desire in my gear.
I did offer DSS as an alternative to Halcyon.
You won't get anywhere. I've been down this rabbit hole. Anything other than Hog is just nonsense to him. Pointing out finish and QA of products is beyond comprehension.
Again, you miss the point. Hog isn't the fit and finish of other options. Another thread is going on about the Hog AL plates not being deburred well. It's cutting the webbing. To Hogs defense, they posted and thanked for the feedback and said they would look into it in the future. I know when I...
First - I get quite frustrated with you jumping on every Hog post. Funny - you've made quite a business selling Hog on here and touting it's products. Good for you, but please drop the 'I dive Hog because its the best.' A better option would be 'I dive Hog because they let a little guy like me...
Halcyon is nice gear, but the $700 you are paying is for the pretty blue H. Look at Deep Sea Supply setups. They run $450-$500 for a full set up brand new and offer top notch customer service.
Save your money and buy a computer with gauge. It will take you thru advanced Trimix as you'll do class on tables. There's a lot better places to use your money to buy gear besides a full on tech computer. Make that your last purchase.
It's not a ScubaPro specific question. All manifolds have these nuts.
I'm in the camp of leaving these loose. I usually just finger tight them after I locate my manifold whee I want it. I've never torqued them down. They have never been an issue (I've owned Dive Rite, Thermo, and Blue Steel...
I've swapped my manifolds to Thermos to align parts with the rest of my gear so these have to go. Priced for quick sell. $100 each obo

In the summer when the Gulf Stream moves in its 72 top to bottom. It's hardy diving though. Expect two hours to the wrecks and two hours back. Not your typical Caribbean dives. And seas can be rough. That said I've gone back 5 years in row to dive NC. It's the only...
Instead of asking all of the Internet divers out there why don't you borrow a rig and dive it a few times. I've strapped people in mine and taken them diving on several occasions. So far only one decided it wasn't for him.
I really have no negatives. I could see the pocket issue, but 99.9% of...
I wasn't trained 'old school'. I've just been selective on my instructors on my advanced training. My point on sucking water down is that I was able to manage the issue without flipping out. It was no more of a big deal than getting a drink down the wrong pipe at the dinner table.
I could...
I've dove inverted, under ice, and almost naked. But not at the same time.....
My point was practice task loading. Push your boundaries (within safe confines) and figure out how to cope with it.
We are arguing the same point....
Use the purge. I don't care. I don't. It doesn't make me right or you wrong.
The point here is that the assumption was made initially that one approach was the answer over the other based on this incident.
Yes I can do both. While maskless, in a black out...
