    Sunday Dive (Video)

Nice video... complete with the "Call of Kalulu." I think that was the first time I've seen a video with Metallica behind it for the music. I guess it would be rather fitting since he comes from the sea.

Sunday at BW --- Dive Report

Sounds like you guys had a blast... Okay, not to Hijack the thread here, but is the viz better at BW during the winter time more than the summer? Could that also be because of more OW classes happening during the summer time?

Best Underwater Town? Or other unique dive?

Whiskeytown lake near Redding I've heard has a town to look at. I've also heard tho that it's pretty deep (>200 ft or so, or roughly 50m).

Is one week enough time to complete the book part of certification?

SDI is another certification agency, like PADI... LDS is an acronym for "Local Dive Shop." Interesting that you found Scuba Classes that are multiweek... the shop that I am looking at getting certified through has a weekend course and a two-day-a-week course. After you do your classes (in...

    Practice Spots in Sacramento

There are a couple of lakes that are available - but both don't have the greatest viz... Folsom and Lake Natoma. I've heard that a couple of shops here do do some diving in these (Scuba World and one shop in folsom, which I think is Fish Eye). However, right now the water is pretty chilly since...

    Glove suggestion

I've got a pair of Aqua lung 3mil Thermoclines. Very warm and I've had them in 40-50 d water. Had no problems with getting my hands cold - and they didn't inhibit dexterity either. I've heard that the thicker gloves can do that.

What attracts divers most for diving?

I think for me it would be the exploration of seeing something new. But then again, I'd have to say that Whenever a Cousteau special came on the TV, It had my interest. I guess I've always had an interest in the underwater world.

Where to buy scuba gear in SoCal

You've got Scuba.com in Irvine... I'm sure they would love your business. Just look them up on the web and get the address - then google it for a map. Should be pretty easy to find from LAX. (No, I'm not an employee of Scuba.com)
