    Newbies are worthless!

If there's one thing that I've noticed in this thread, and please excuse the possible over analyzing here, but what seems to be the point that a lot of you are making is that those that are new to the sport (myself included in this), tend to have an attitude of humility, and they are looking to...

    new divers and rescue skills

One thing that I was going to mention in that thread where Jim commented was that in the book that I have (PADI 2010 version), has some of the skills in it that would be considered rescue skills. No, it's not taking off an unconscious diver's exposure suit in an emergency while both of you are...

    Open Water Certification

If you come to NorCal, a lot of the check out dives are done in Monterey. There's a dive shop right at Breakwater Beach that should be able to help you with your needs if you go there. I believe it's called Glenn's Aquarius. Google is your friend here. Look up "Scuba Diving Monterey."

    diving ascent times/safety stops.

Now I am not an instructor, but my PADI book mentions going no faster than 18m/60 ft per minute. Also, if you are diving with a computer, your computer also should indicate if you should slow down or not.

    Hello everyone

I too have delays - not due to physical conditions, like you but other things that I don't really want to go into right now. Basically, I'm looking for a new scuba shop to go to...I think I've found one, but more to come on that one later.

How long is it safe to store air in your scuba tanks?

I thought the Air from Washington DC was the same quality as the one from the Dairy Farm.... :D:rofl3: Especially the ones from the White House. :D

    I need to get wet.

Brian - if you need to sharpen your skills, there is always Nimbus Lake or Folsom - I've heard that near the Dam at Folsom there is good viz. Lot's of Bass if you like diving in fresh water. Also there's the North Coast Dive Club that gets together every once and a while.
