    PADI vs NAUI

That is a phrase that causes me a lot of frustration....it is very subjective, and often what society or a person deem as "unsafe" is in fact, less significant than other behaviors or diving practices that are "frowned upon" by some appointed group A really fit person with the wrong attitude...

What are your biggest pet peeves?

Where I come from they bang almost everyday because they just want to go to lunch....and everybody knows it btw, what was the cause of death? Could you not make the same argument then, that 'for safety" people must dive in one group and only close to shore? Also, how far away can you hear...

What are your biggest pet peeves?

I'm sure all types of things are blamed when somebody dies... My last quarter of the dive is almost always with SMD deployed..just to be polite to the captain another vote for SMB, in fact divers w/o SMB are annoying for captains, and could be fatal too

What are your biggest pet peeves?

I always wait for them to bang the ladder for at least ten minutes, lol you can sort of tell how mad they are by how fast they bang....

    PADI vs NAUI

Yes, it is a business that wants to sell materials....and they want to sell them the next set. ;) Hey, I am a certified boat diver, I know the deal. lol

I would agree that it is up to you who you certify.

    PADI vs NAUI

I thought we were discussing what we define as "unqualified" attitude-wise.

    PADI vs NAUI

I've know quite a few and I think you might be wrong on that, no offense. There are many that think base jumping (or freediving 130 ft) IS self destrictive, it's all relative. You staying behind in Libya....it's all a matter of perspective Anyway, I am getting you all off topic so I'll be...

    PADI vs NAUI

Geeze... I don't do any of those things but that sounds pretty harsh, lol. Actually, I've had a beer with lunch on a long surface interval, so I guess I better watch out.

    PADI vs NAUI

I don't see why the person's attitude shold be any of the Instructor's business, when it is not even a legal requirement to be certified in order to dive. What if they are an alcoholic or smoke pot? I'm just pointing out that an attitude is no more risky than many other variables. I guess...

    PADI vs NAUI

There is no law that you have to be certified to dive, so why do you care if he is unsafe from a "bad attitude," as opposed to lack of knowledge? What if he has the "right" attitude and he weighs 400 pounds...why is it your business? Walter, since I happen to know you as a Libertarian. ;)...

    PADI vs NAUI

Those course directors are really annoying....I rode a sled behind the north shore lifeguard rescue team jet ski in order to get past the big shore break at Kelly Slater reef fundraiser to do a fish survey, and they bugged me for a month about how unsafe it was, bad reflection on PADI, etc. I...
