I am thinking of getting a front entry suit. Body Glove has one for about $800 which is a very good price. I was wondering if anyone has had a chance to dive with one or even saw one.
Any info would be appreciated. Also I am only looking for feedback / info for that suit only. I already know...
The only thing I wouldn't get is the AIR 2, most people I know have problem with them sooner or later, and they are not standard which make them hard to deal with (for others) in case of an emergency. Get a regular octo, it's cheaper and, easier and in my opinion safer. I don't know that many...
I would not get spare air, I would get a 13 cu ft pony, it's very portable not much bigger that than a 6 cu ft and it should give you more than enough to ascend slowly.
Don't know any doctor in Cleveland, and if she is newly certified it might just be bad equalization technics. I had an extremely hard time when I started out due to a sinus condition, It would take me 20mn to go 20ft... Now that I have better technic, it takes me only a few seconds...
While...
My first BC was a Mares with the AT system (morphos) and I didn't like it at all. Mares are well build BC's but the AT system doesn't give the diver any feedback as far as how fast the BC is deflating. Hard to explain the feeling, but I wouldn't recomend it.
I ended up selling it. When I was...
You will need to take the DAN oxygen first aid class first, you will get a card good for 2 years that will allow you to get 100% 02 without a prescription. Any dive shop that mixed Nitrox, tri-mix etc... will be able to supply you with 100% 02.
1. go to a shop that teaches NAUI or SSI instead (found local shops that teach these, they seem fine. By the way, how would that work with having a PADI OW cert ?)
Go NAUI, YMCA or SSI... That is if you want to actually learn something.
Two more tips:
Relax. It really does help.
Ask someone more experienced to watch you. I remember when I started diving I didn't have a good technic as far as letting all the air out of my BC until someone noticed and show me what I was doing wrong.
It seems that it is mostly Hollywood BS... Almost everytime you see K.C. in the water he has his mask on his forhead which is what you learn not to do in OW.
A semi-dry can be had for $200-$400 new, not near what a good dry suit (used) would cost. I dive in a semi-dry during the winter and except for my wrists and ankles, my semi dry have always kept me pretty dry...
