Seaquest balance and Zeagle Ranger ?'s between the two

I didn't realize it was that old lol. The thing is few pp actually have both as the balance and ranger are rather good bcds so most will happily settle with one or the either. Perhaps the best person to do a side by side comparison is... you :)

    Shore diving in doubles....

Shore diving with doubles really depend on how fit/crazy/mental or just plain desperate you are lol. Done shore entries with 3 full alu 80s on a cobble beach, surf and waddling backwards all the while... not fun at all! Afterwards, even a tree stump can become more important then an urgent...

Funny whistle breathing from long hose

If you are breathing it above water sometimes the diaphragm vibrates and causes the honking noise. Put into water, purge and try again. Should be fine.

    The cost of incremental improvement

Do it right the first them and you won't have to keep swapping out gear often also realize that you'll never be able to keep up with the curve so it's best to research well before hand and whatever u do stop drooling at someone else's gear lol. 1982shawn, u stay away from my 6 legends lx k lol...

    Question about lights

LOL yeah why isn't diving cheaper or we richer huh? The DRIS is a great backup light. As for a primary light, take your time there are often black friday deals from Piranha Dive Mfg. or you could contact Jim Lapenta as he deals with Hog gear too. Check the classifieds often too on this and...

    Looking for a little advice

Regardless of how good a deal is, if it isn't a good fit it's money down the drain. Take the time to get it right the first time. Getting 2 bcds isn't good idea unless both have a purpose.

    Need A Couple Questions Answered.

Sol, A bp/w will work in whatever exposure suit you are using wet or dry. If you are going the dm/instructors route it is advisable that you wear a jacket however, there are dive shops/schools that teach the students bp/w or a back inflate from day one. Cheers

Poseidon regulators - are they a reg that is not so common?

In Singapore it's not really an issue but I'm not sure if getting it serviced in Thailand, Indonesia or Malaysia would be as easy.

    Mid-Range BP/W Suggestions for Newbie

I'm sure you enjoyed some photos more then others lol! Therein lies the main differences between rec and tech. In rec it works if it's cool, in tech its cool if it works. We try to minimize gear too but not on the essentials. Regs, wings, hog harness, sturdy fins etc. The unnecessary are...

    Need A Couple Questions Answered.

Turning your reg up at shallow depths create upwards pressure on the diaphragm similar to the suction effect as you breath from it. In currents the suction effect on the vents also create a similar effect and in both case, can cause a free flow. A simple turn reg mouth downwards with a 2...

    Mid-Range BP/W Suggestions for Newbie

I'll try to answer some of your questions: 1. The padding on the harness was designed first for the purposes of carrying the gear for long distances. Like a backpack the diverite transpac was designed for that. In a 6.5mm suit you'll be perfectly comfortable without any padding however, if...
