    back inflation or wing system

Hi PandaPop, If you are going into diving as a job you might check around with the various schools about the bcd style that is accepted for teaching purposes. Also if you are planning to use doubles most standard bcds won't cut it. Anyway, Zeagle and Diverite have modular systems that allow...

    Experienced views on Apeks Flight?

Regulator servicing is fairly easy however, cus it's so easy some shops tend to do eyes half close. Simple things like a improperly seated valve, lack of lubrication, or simply poor ip pressure testing can all lead to a whole bunch of problems. I won't rent a reg cus most of the times I have...

Mares abyss 22 or Scubapro s600 / also what do people think of the scubapro Air2?

For the inline octo, you might lose some weight but you also gain a few inconveniences. It doesn't breath as well as most standard regs, it isn't really suitable for teaching purposes and unless you are willing to unassemble it from your bcd or else every servicing will require you bring the...

    Rational for Elipse wing shape

Hi Laura, Yes, I agree in a perfect world where pp are balance right in the water the wing would be perfect, unfortunately for big foots and hobbits like myself, the more likely outcome would be flipping backwards and ending up standing straight in the water lol! I also believe that anyone who...

I agree you are right in that the Titan is a different reg and it's heavier 1020g vs 585g or so. However, you do sacrifice durability for weight WTS Apeks Flight 1st n 2nd Stage Also the price differences are rather large $445 vs $595 Anyway you could also consider the aqualung mikron green...

Novice diver plunge for Backplate and Wing?

I'm not sure about that, not all GUE guys are that mercenary. They might offer a lot more help then you think. Sure they might want to sell you a course or 2 but I doubt any professional operation would just say get lost. There are also tons of online help if needed,: DIR-diver.com - Adjust...

    Experienced views on Apeks Flight?

Hi Osric, My technician friend carries the full range of apeks and aqualung regs and when I asked for a travel reg he highly recommended the Aqua Lung Titan LX ACD as it uses parts common to other aqualung regs so servicing isn't an issue at most dive locations. Cheers

Novice diver plunge for Backplate and Wing?

Agree. Disagree, what does tech have to do with having a properly fitting bp/w? The solution is just getting someone familiar with bp/w in general and getting them to help fit it.

Mares abyss 22 or Scubapro s600 / also what do people think of the scubapro Air2?

It depends on what your idea of challenging sites is. Drift dive, deep, wreck? Most regs and bcds are designed for a lot of different conditions its only when you go tech that you'll need something else. For bcds comfort, lift, features in that order. For regs, its ease of breathing...

    Mid-Range BP/W Suggestions for Newbie

As you can see there are many differing views on what works and what doesn't. What I would recommend is before getting your setup you could go and dive with different groups of divers from rec to tech etc just to learn the differences. Till you actually do it yourself, saying one method is...

Novice diver plunge for Backplate and Wing?

With the exception of the pioneer wing, every other wing from H has no cam band slots anymore, you are forced to use an sta. There are many other wings that have the ability for multiple adjustments and points of attachment like Oxycheq, Diverite, Scubapro, OMS, etc, etc. ---------- Post Merged...

    Need A Couple Questions Answered.

Stay with your current regs for the time being till you have need for something better. For the dry suit I would like to echo the same comments, post your questions in the exposure section. For the DSS plates, I'm sure you could get Dan's dive shop to order them for you.

    Mid-Range BP/W Suggestions for Newbie

It's not about tech or DIR but another way of solving potential problems. I'm open to various ideas so long as they function safely while you seem to keep rejecting anything related to tech. True, rare that more likely then not it's the diver's lack of attention that results in an incident...

Funny whistle breathing from long hose

DA my friend said check not change... he suggest a return to the store which serviced the reg too. Lack of lubrication could be the culprit however, without a proper examination it could be 1 of a dozen reasons.

    Mid-Range BP/W Suggestions for Newbie

I see so it's more difficult to use but cus it weights less and there's one less hose you advice it's usage. Ok got it. The short octo air sharing is taught by PADI and many other rec schools so I'll leave it at that. Just cos it's do-able doesn't make it better. I can inflate my wing and...
