    25lb 32lb or 38lb wing for 7mm wetsuit w/ L85 tanks + 20lbs of lead.

The guys have already raised a lot of very good points. Redundancy and buddy rescue Taco and difficulty to vent Exposure suit considerations. My take is 32-40 lbs is just about right however, please look out for low profile wings in the larger lift capacities. A typical wing in a 35lbs range...

I'm curious if you have ever considered a Hog or an aqualung?

6 divers went missing off Tioman island

All I want to know is who's the dive operator and boat crew?

SCUBAPRO New parts for life program

One of the reasons why I refuse to buy scubapro / halcyon regs. A lot of unnecessary dos n don'ts followed by prices and marketing gimmicks that only serve the interests of the sp n not the customer. I'm glad that Hogs regs are eating away at their customer base.

    Octo Regulators

Technically it won't really matter to the 1st stage or the octo so long as both are calibrated the same however, the real advantage of having both the primary and the octo being the same is as the guys have mentioned: 1. Easier servicing 2. Better breathing 3. Peace of mind Get the best...

    Mares back inflate BCD

Yes, it's another expensive pos from the company that brought you the HUB.. Hopelessly useless bag lol!

    Travel BCD suggestions and opinions

Yes yes we all know the bp/w is better... dir u lol! Did you also happen to mention to watch out for the weight positioning? Some pp like myself are very leg heavy and without weight pockets near the upper straps, I'll turtle flip backwards lol! If a BP/W is the dark side, sm is Jedi...

    Travel BCD suggestions and opinions

Personally these are the 4 factors I would consider when getting a travel bcd. 1. Weight < 7lbs 2. Ease of repair, modular components. 3. Flexibility, single/double or sm tank usage. 5. Easy drying. With these features 3 bcds come to mind. 1. Transpac with rec wing...

Mares abyss 22 or Scubapro s600 / also what do people think of the scubapro Air2?

Anyday, the transpac is one of the earlier designs which allows the transportation of tanks over long distances so it's designed like a backpack. Anyway I'll go into more details about the transpac on the other forum section but if you wanted my opinion of a great reg for most of your trips...

    Aquatech Duo Vortex Fins

If you got em free it's worth tinkering around with it however, if you could get rid of them for something better it would certainly be better then patching up this doozer.

Article: Kudos to Bob Bailey - NWGratefulDiver

Kudos Bob! I would recommend that the names and photos of those leaches be posted to all dive shops and site operators so that they never have a chance to get away with such barbarism again.

    The Down Current Killer

If it's one of those I'm good enough and don't need anyone else comments, I'll pass. One of the first things I ask a potential new buddy is "do you prefer diving alone" an obvious answer will have an obvious outcome... next! The very first question of course would be are you a photographer?

Poseidon regulators - are they a reg that is not so common?

This is very interesting, how does the atomization occur? The only thing I'm aware of is the regs tend to spit due to the delivery system. However, as long as air from the 1st stage enters a chamber from which a diver breaths from, wouldn't vaporization occur anyway?

    Bcc help

Sm and bm gear is rather different and won't mix/match well, if you are going to do sm more often and wreck then I would suggest you get a dedicated sm rig. If however, you are still undecided and would prefer something that allows bm doubles, singles and for travel purposes, a bp/w is hard to...

    The Down Current Killer

There have been many such incidents already, it's generally acknowledged that some of the local dms have a sense of machismo coupled with a certain lack of responsibility. Life seems cheap to some people, I would avoid that dive operation and especially that dm forever.

What is a good dive knife?

I have learn that different types of diving needs different knives. For rec/tec a simple blunt steak knife is the best however, for spearfishing, you need something that can be used as a kill knife. The days of the rambo knife is over unless you plan to hunt for boars or dear underwater...

Difference between a 2004 Aqualung legend LX and today's model?

If you get it at just $130 it's a steal. Service it for 4 yrs and sell it or learn to service it yourself. If you want something affordable you can consider hog regs or the titan lx is a great buy.

Difference between a 2004 Aqualung legend LX and today's model?

Legend LX I see no need to get the new model cus the older lx is about as good as it get anyway. I have 6 of them and taken them down to 70m without any problems at all. Breathes as good as on the surface. The other thing is the older regs have a urethane boot on the 1st stage is makes...

Carbon fins vs. Cressi Gara 2000 HF

Sorry to hijack this thread but I have a similar question. Just for the heck of it I wanted to give freediving/spearfishing a try so I'm in the market for some new closed heel fins. As I'm mostly going to do only recreational diving, light freediving and snorkeling I'll need something durable...
