If you are looking for something reasonable, light and can be used for a lot of different fining styles, the mares super channel and wave are 2 great examples.
Great vid review however, I have another question about carbon/fiberglass vs plastic. I have often heard of fiberglass fins de-laminating and wearing out fairly quickly. How do they compare against plastic or carbon fins.
Thx
I agree that the more variables you add the more likely one of them will encounter a failure, however, the possibility that all will fail is drastically reduced. The point I'm making is the advantages of having a backup vs not having one.
Well there are the ignorant and the foolish, both of which have no place in diving much less going deep or entering any overhead enviroment.
Edd had to rescue a padi instructor and his daughter during a cave dive gone wrong. A cave that already guidelines and many prior visitors.
Another easy...
Whiskey seems to work wonders. Who cares if it fogs cus I'll be happy.
DIR guys are trained to dive blind anyway so who cares it if fogs lol!
If whiskey isn't available, I'll prep my masks with lighter fluid and later rubbing alcohol, followed by a good toothpaste scrub and before a drive a...
I'm so hoping you are not a safety officer cus according to your theory, more redundancies means more failures so, there is no need for any spares.
Suffice to say I completely disagree with your theory that adding redundancies increases the chances of failures cus you've seem to completely miss...
In my world I drive in a car with 4 tires I'm sure in your world your car only has one tire cus there no way 1 wheel failing will be less then all 4 wheels failing.
Either you live in a singularity or as you said earlier you got a handle on redundancy...
I nearly fell off my chair when I read that!
Either you live in a very different universe then I do or else this is a very bad case of string theory gone badly wrong.
Assuming and I really mean assuming that a reg has a 50% failure rate, with one you have (50%) chance of it failing.
With 2...
I'm not referring to the elbow but rather the octo bungee. You do not increase failure rates by adding a 2nd octo.
Yes, that I agree with however, I disagree with the earlier statement that the only adv a bungee octo only advantage is it's length.
As for elbow failures, I experienced it...
Great post.
There are so many people that do dumb things in life that they usually get away without too much damage however, when it comes to diving, rock climbing or sky diving, all it takes is one mistake and you're not coming back the same way.
Some people never grow out of the "mommy...
I think that its cus their stuff works as it's suppose to. No changes in cosmetic designs every couple of years, no more replacement of good regs for something that needs more maintenance etc etc.
I'm not exactly a fan of aqualung but at least most of there regs share the same components that...
