I have always lubricated my inflator o rings with a bit of christo-lube. Why not just add a small smear to the o rings and see what happens. I find that with a bit of lube, salt encrustation is reduced.
Good that the spectra that fits you well. I found that Scubapro, Problue, Tusa and IST to make masks that fit Asian faces better. The best fitting masks also seem to have the softest skirts.
You don't really need buddies now. Your instructor and dm are your best friends for now. Listen to everything they tell you but find a group of people that you really can trust. If for some reason you feel they are either out for $ or are too gun ho, go to another shop.
No matter what happens pls remember 3 things.
1. If unwell or you feel unsafe call off the dive.
2. Relax, there are guys to help you so don't try to do more then you have to.
3. Enjoy yourself :)
Hendersuits are indeed really good and as far as wetsuits go they r pretty much one of the best around. Very high quality neoprene
Fourth element is also another great entry however, their prices are way too much for my tastes.
Scubapro is another every good suit and fit most Asians or...
If you'll be diving in mostly warm water and with minimal exposure gear you could get away with 25lbs but in choppy conditions, 30 is better.
35 might be a bit large unless you plan on using steel tanks but still very doable and the voyager is still pretty slim.
Personally I still rather get...
I doubt that a lot of the info presented will be of much use to most divers. The fact they have pic of a mares reg and a crossed out apeks ds4 reg kidda made me lose interest in all that mumbo jumbo.
Tech divers have been using the ds4 to depths >100m with no issues whatsoever. I posted a...
Granted I myself have gone to 197 feet on air and although, nothing bad came out of it I certainly understand that it wasn't the smartest thing to do. We are only just beginning to understand the physiological effects of O2 and N on the body and everyone reacts differently to differing...
Ok then cus I have used plates from hammerhead, oms, halcyon diverite, oxycheq etc etc and as much as I want all the holes or spacing to be perfect I quickly found out that it really isn't necessary lol.
I found the oms and halcyon types to be pretty much all I'll ever need so when I saw the...
Don't stress about getting yourself perfect in the water straight away it always takes a while especially if you haven't gotten a lot of dives under your belt.
Just enjoy yourself and relax and things will fall in place easier. As for the 3mm not being suitable for colder waters you could...

I have dove from rickety canoes, slippery round cobbles beaches and from smaller boats using bm and stages.... never again!
As I never dive solo me and my buddy are always able to help with each other's tanks while one goes to lay em on the beach or em toss up on the boat. Granted they can be...
I agree, seldom do I find that a boat operator that would insist that you dive bm or won't allow you some leeway when diving with them. More often then not a operator would go out of their way to assist you.
Diving from shore... I see no negatives vs backmount. You don't have to lug twin...
