Poseidon regulators - are they a reg that is not so common?

Great regs but what I would call a Rolls-Royce reg. Excellent when you have them working, a nightmare when they don't. Cons Expensive to get, expensive to service, parts can be an issue, hard to find a good technician, difficult to tune properly, expensive tools. Strange delayed breathing and...

So many accessories - how to attach them to your wing?

There isn't usually a need for me to carry so much stuff lol but when I do have to carry more then my fair share these things come into play. 1. Dual Holder Butt Pouch with zippered pocket on bottom! http://www.piranhadivemfg.com/item/Dual-Holder-Butt-Pouch-with-zippered-pocket-on-bottom-2429...

Water getting into the nose section of my mask

One of the best things I've ever bought was something like this National Geographic Mask Strap Neoprene, Complete It's so much easier to don and doff, doesn't need to be that tight as the load is very evenly spread unlike some dive mask straps that bunches up and causes uneven tension...

    Need A Couple Questions Answered.

I know of divers who go to 40m who have no idea what a piston or diaphragm is, never heard of O2 toxicity or will ever take a nitrox course... Personally I don't care much if they choose how or what to do so long as they don't become my problem should I dive with them. The fact adamp69 is...

    Need A Couple Questions Answered.

I've see regs that have gone without servicing for 3 yrs, are nearly all green outside but still breath fine. That's how some commercial divers "take care of their regs" Rarely do regs fail if ever. However, if you suspect something wrong, just go have your lds do a complete test on the regs.

What? You already have a set of diverite regs, they are decent regs why do you need to buy anything else then? If you are concerned just go to your lds and ask them to do a ip creep test. If nothing is wrong they are good to go and service them a year later just in case. What's you're idea...

    Mid-Range BP/W Suggestions for Newbie

Hi Peter, I have a couple more questions for you to consider. 1. What's your budget? 2. Wetsuit of dry for cold water diving? 3. What's your current weighting? One of the rule of thumb I know some people use for weighting calculation is 10% of your body weight +10lbs so in your case it's...

Please help my wife find a westuit

Shes sounds like she has the dimensions of a lot of Asian gals. The brands that seem to fit more petite women are Scubapro, Pinnacle, Bare. If you are on the leisurepro site you try to chat with a Miyuki one of the online advisors. I believe the scubapro oneflex might be a good fit.

    Thoughts on these reel(s)?

These are rec not tech reels and what the guys have said is completely true. An enclosed reel is going to be more fun then a birds nest on a surf casting reel lol! Cheap rec reel: 290' Recreational Reel "BLACK" Cheap Tech reel: 290' Tec Reel "Black"...

I agree with gcarter, I couldn't find any info from Apeks about free parts for life only Aqualung: Aqua Lung - Professional Diving Equipment The info is very specific but also very complicated. Official retailers don't need to provide that warranty only official distributors. What I...

    Freediving masks

The Alien is one of the more user friendly free diving masks. I would say that the Alien has viewing angles similar to some diving masks. I suspect that the Problue 'Nero' Mask - Reflective Lens - Black I recent got is a oem of an alien. A lot of free diving masks don't fit Asian faces very...

One of the best thing of the gear you bought is that in the event you decide to go the the bp/w you could reuse the wing on the transpac.

I'm assuming that the parts are free but not the servicing costs and the price is similar to this: Regulator Service and Parts - Dive Gear Express Parts costs for 2 2nd stage and 1 first stage is about $62. You service em once every 2 years and you keep the regs for a max of 6 years. Total...

Novice diver plunge for Backplate and Wing?

One possible solution to the tiny screen of the D4 is to pop into a hardware shop and get a stick on magnification screen. Find a good clear adhesive that is easy to remove just in case. I remembered that Suunto had an optional screen magnification attachment, not sure if it's still available

Please allow me to throw a couple of spanners into the works. 1. Any questions you have about a DSS rig you really should throw to Tobin, he'll also help you find the best way to get the rig in Canada. As for your built I would suggest a large plate and really a 35lbs wing is sufficient, if...

Too big a wish list not enough money! Need Help!

I agree completely however, you've read Kian's replies and one thing shines through... "I have no idea what to get"... I would much rather he dive with you or some other experienced diver, learn all the ropes of each set of rig, understand the features of everything etc before he goes looking...
